Has anyone viewed the Stage 4 GTR at RS Direct?

The car is in the link below, has anyone viewed this car yet? I think I saw someone say on here that it wasn't in great condition and it does appear cheap for the spec even with it's mileage so is it's condition poor?

RSD Specialist Cars - The South Wests Premier Sports & Performance Dealership

Anyone local who could have a look? It's still a few months early for me to go hunting but I keep getting drawn to it..

Mileage is a bit high, can't see the discs properly but they may need changing, if so you'll need to spend £2k to get new discs and pads but it does have a £4k exhaust on it which you could easily whip off and sell for £3k straight away then replace with something else if you were so inclined..

Decent price for the spec, how people live with those red seats is a mystery to me

Ah okay mate.

Had a Supra a while back, then stepped into an E46 M3. Sold that last year and now have the GTR bug.

Looking to buy later this year or early next

High miles? It's a ****ing 5 year old Nissan!! Anything <60k miles is low miles. Jesus.

Good car and good spec, but will have the lower resolution Nav screen.

Its been there for weeks. I have looked at it and came close to buying. Brakes etc good. Bodywork good. Tyres ok. Akra sounds lovely although only the rear section. Its got miltek Y pipe. All sounds good so far doesnt it. Plus I agreed a great price. The catch is... the gearbox is a massive liability.

Fair play to the rs direct guy he was straight up saying there could be an issue and thats why its at litchfields. This interested me as the gearbox is going to need stripping so part of the deal was the purchase to include magnets, solenoid clean and first gear circlips. But what worries me is from digging the car has had gearbox woes for a while, even before rs direct got it. The issue at the mo is believed to be clutch seals. I spoke with Ian Litchfield about it and he wasnt prepared to warrant the car / box regardless of how much I spent repairing it now. Therefore I kind of saw the car as a liability and walked away even though the deal seemed great.

A minorish additional point is the interior is not as crisp as some others. The centre console has been wrapped in carbon film and is past its best.

Thanks for the information, gearbox woes are enough to make me pass on it. There is another up north in Scotland that is also a stage 4 and benefits being a 10 plate.

Running insurance quotes + adding a Litchfield warranty on top confirm that I do need to keep saving though

I thought most GTRs have a gearbox issues at some point in there life? Also i thought Litchfields were top people to fix them... And they wont offer a warranty after its all been done??

Sounds like its got ongoing faults that keep comming back(

Due to a design fault looks like the solenoid in the gearbox can accumulate tiny fragment that cause it to go a bit bonkers, wouldn't really call that a fault more a design issue and known to the forum and it's easily cleaned while doing a gearbox oil service

Guess you could view this car as a "gremlin" appearing to have had a few faults before and they still haven't gone. If litchfield don't want to warranty the car as stated by poster above then it should raise concern and possible expensive repairs/fixes on it will be required?

It's got high mileage (in relation to most gtr's), question marks over the gearbox and is overpriced (IMHO). I think it only the mods that make it appealing but I would prefer a std, lower mileage car that I could buy without any niggling worries in the back of my
mind.
