It may be hard to spot this very slight differences as your engine is a good chunk far away from standard but I've driven similar spec engines on 6x50mm and single throttle bodies, and there is a difference (however it is small and I'm a fussy git!!!!)

At risk of going off topic,
What cams are you running?
The drop in throttle response makes sense, Cord. When I had my setup done everything was done at once so I wasn't able to feel the subtle changes.

Regarding the cams, they are HKS 272 IN/EX Step 2.

trumpets are used on n/a cars to increase the mass of air using a venturi effect

they can be used on turbocharged cars too - with some very impressive results
The Nismo one has trumpets too.

Cord and Gio,

agree with both of you, i think for up to approx 700/800 bhp stay with 6 throttle bodies makes the car drive better off of boost, better pick up even with big twins turbo,s fitted but will lose bhp at the top end especially if you a hanging bigish rpm to make the power.

over this bhp figure go for the single because the car will be a little cammy as to speak.......but who cares with this bhp...........

but what about a big single throttle body and some nitrous.............;-)

Gadjet,
the nismo inlet manifold works very well.
we get no problems when mapping a Map sensor based management
system on multi throttle bodies. You need a good system with good
compensation maps and a good dyno and a good dyno operator/mapper.

Mark

We run a single throttle body on our custom plenims and drivability/response is great. Its very hard to tell the difference between it and multi set ups.

A number of the Japanese tuners have put out RB26 intake plenums that take a single throttle and have the velocity stacks inside (an important element of making the plenum's work well). Most of the plenum's are based on the same design. Check out the following tuner websites:

JUN (Keith's plenum)
Top Secret (my car's plenum); and
Endless.
