I thought the £600 for side mirror thread was taking the piss, but the £18000 Gearbox replacement thread made me spill my coffee on my lap and burn my legs.

This is the guy you see when you go to your local Nissan dealership to diagnose a Gearbox/MFD/Stereo/Paint/Instrument Cluster issue with your GTR

Have a shot or two hahahahahaha you made my day
On a serios note to be honest the GT-R is a very good car
Yes part's are expensive but so are part's on other car's in that
category, car's with this serious level of performance would be,
I think it will get better as time passes

Litchfield

Prices for the warranty are:
£1,200 inc. VAT for vehicles entering their 4th year (renewal customers will be charged the same as their first year with us)
£1,440 inc. VAT for vehicles entering their 5th year
£1,680 inc. VAT for vehicles entering their 6th year
Vehicles over 6 years old will be admitted at our discretion

Still, a bargain compared to what Nissan charge.

I don't have a GTR...yet.

Minus the parts that are required, just remove whatever doesnt work

MFD - no need for that
Headunit - pah, bin it, save the weight.... that 9gb harddrive has to be weighty

Has anyone worked out the cost to build a GTR if you built it from individual parts from nissan ? Bet it would be in the £150-£200k region not including any labour.

Hahaha that's not new man, it's been going on since the very first R32 came to the UK

People only have themselves to blame!

Btw Nissan Europe so price parts very high but that's how they make their money. There is not much profit in the cars and sometimes sold at a loss. Look at printers cheap as chips consumables are priced high

There is a thread about Nismo thermostat on the skyline section which highlights the shocking prices of parts sold here in the UK compared to Japan. Tarmac Terror is a smart man and more people should take a leaf out of his book and buy much as possible from Japan otherwise not only are you being raped with out lube but you are throwing money into the bin and someone is laughing all the way to the bank
