Hi Tim. Thats mighty good of you to volonteer. Regarding the VAT I have no idea. I'll be sending the dampers with EMS which allows me to select whether the package is a present or other. I expect if the package will be subject to UK tax then it would be payed on delivery? I'm not really sure how it works there.

Anyway, I'm closing this group buy first thing in the morning so late tonight for you in the UK

Hi Dino,

I also believe you can ship goods as "warranty parts"... Maybe this is a nice way to avoid nasty taxes?

You can even include a letter inside the box, just incase the customs people open up the package...

Something in the lines of "Sorry to hear the batch of dampers you had proved to be of poor quality, these are the new dampers, so you can replace them under warranty bla bla bla"

But someone who's more used to trading internationally might know a better way?

Dino,
If the struts for an aluminium bonnet have a higher pressure could you change my order, as my carbon bonnet appears heavier than the original?!

Cheers
Nick

Just before we go ahead I've asked the guys at Augment to come back to me with an approximate kg range for which the dampers for the carbon bonnets are supposed to work. This occured to me since I assume people out there are using different bonnets from different tuners so I thought I'd better make sure, right?

Jason, sorry mate. I asked the guys at Augment to confirm if the dampers fit in a ER33. At first they said yes but I asked them to physically check and they did, they do not fit as the structure is very different to a GT-R. Sorry

Wow Dino,
Gutted, especially as my carbon bonnet is from a GTR and fits with a tiny modification.

Just to double check, is ER33 a typo, did you mean ECR33 ?

sorry Jason, missed your message there somehow.

That is what the guys at Augment told me. I also thought that there is no difference since the chassis is the same and the only thing that changes in that area is the actual size of the front wing on a GTR compared to a GTS. Maybe you could take a picture of that area and we can compare it to a GTR? What do you think?

Regarding the carbon bonnets. If the bonnets weigh +/- 1Kg from a R34 V-specII bonnet then there is no problem. I guess they set the gas pressure according to the V-specII bonnet weight. Now, anyone know how much a standard v-spec II bonnet weighs?

Thanks for sorting this all out Dino , all i need now is the payment detials. As for shipping, most items i've had sent driect from Japan, i've had shipped as gifts and escaped the dreaded tax man

It can help to mark a lower value on the items for shipping as wel, then if they do check they normally only tax on that amount, unless they bother to investigate. (one of the girls i live with use to be a customs officer )

DCD,

Like S2GTR, I've missed this thread - can you put me down for carbon fibre for R34 standard bonnet - or have I missed it?

Thanks
Steve
