I agree. Ill probably buy another, but they are built to a budget, and they do rattle.

Im sure some of the R8's are shit too. Mine isn't, thank god, maybe they sorted some stuff out with the facelift. I will agree the Sat nav is shit though

Anyhooo.....

All I said, is that GTRs are built to a budget. You jumped down my throat!

Yes I agree car was built to a budget and the main bulk of it went towards performance over everything else so you have to except that certain things will be lacking compared to other manufactures like crap seats for one and squeaky interior but I can live with this as it opens up that level of performance to someone like me who can go max 40k on a car.

Precisely Brad. Completely agree

If you want the same performance from Porsche, it comes with a massive price.

Im glad someone understands what Im saying, and doesn't take it personally.

One thing I do disagree with on is the rattle transmission wise (bellhousing) there is no way any car should rattle like that its not right on a modern car at any price/budget.

I don't own Audi. I just own an R8, and will probably selling it shortly anyway, so attacking Audi doesn't bother me in the slightest. Its like you are trying to get at me, because Ive bought a particular brand of car, and you call me childish. HAHAHAHAHHAHA.

My football team is better than your football team. My dad is bigger than your dad... etc..etc.... Jesus

My R8 is basically brand new. Only 2000 miles on it. Its faultless.

The new F Type V8 I had was awful, so I understand about having a bad experience from a manufacturer

Maybe it's in the name!!!
The meaning of the name Flynn is Descendant Of The Red-haired Man

Hot Headed childish

And
when someone upsets him by giving back what he dishes out...he threatens to leave the forum

Not sure if I am missing something but I thought this forum was set up for the benefit of members who appreciate the GTR not Tw*ts that constantly want to wind people up and voice their negative opinions about the car onto new members
Moderators this is not good for the forum or new members

Flynn opinions only supports popcorn sales

Surely this forum is for people to discuss GTRs and skylines, not just brown-nose them!

I personally wouldn't want to be on a forum full of yes-men, you need balanced opinions so I see no issue in making a new owner aware of issues which aren't rare, let's face it!

Also, Flynn completely left his audi out of his post and got jumped on for saying something entirely relevant and realistic. That hardly paints the forum in a good light either, does it?

I must apologise if the intention was not to wind up others but I have seen many threads that start off on the same lines where a newbie wants some advice and then everyone jumps in giving the their two pence worth about how wonderful or crap the car is.
When I first purchased the R35 as an engineer I wanted to know the good, bad and ugly points of the car so I could allow or fix them before they went wrong but most new owners want to get to know and enjoy the car and don't really want to hear all the bad stuff and experiences....it ruins the honeymoon period and puts doubt in people's mind.

Yes the GTR has it's bad points but as Goldie said what other car that has similar performance hasn't.

I will lay down the challenge to anyone to name a car that has similar or better performance and reliability in the GTR price range and then where you can pay just £5k worth of mods to take it up to the 650R.
it's simply down to VFM
The car is very reliable
The car is iconic
And that's why it has so many followers and owners

Oski,
Well done, good choice, simply Enjoy, you won't regret it

All I said is that it has its rattles and squeeks, as its build to an affordable budget. It is a Nissan after all

It takes a big man to apologise, so thank you roadrunner, and apology accepted.

Just Goldie to apologise now. I hope he can step up like you did.

Saying nasty things and hurt my feelings. He said I was still at school and I should leave and grow up.

Oh the humanity.....

Its look at me, the GTR gets dogged off,

Oski, there ae few threads about re rattles etc.
This is an old one that you might want to read.
https://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/156027-rattle.html
Re a tapping/rattle from under the car: I have an MY10 and Milltek and I found that the undertray fins get very close to the Milltek support arm where the exhaust first goes into the tray. Sufficiently close such that when I drove on bumpy surfaces the tray would rattle against the support. It was difficult to pin down at first as it reverberated through the tray. Anyway worth a look. Whilst you are under there just tap the tray at a few points and then you can hear a rattle and detect if there are any touch points. Anyway a couple of washers under the tray bolt nearest that point moved the tray sufficiently away so it doesn't touch any more (only around 3mm needed).
Re bellhouising again there are lots of threads on this. Yhey all do rattle to some extent, have a search and listen to examples, some links posted to Nagtroc forum also in this thread too.
https://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/168359-am...se-normal.html
I'm on my third and still not overly happy currently.

Clicks = probably immobiliser as already stated

Re losing traction, I'm surprised if it's when dry and on the straight? but certainly will with any dampness or lock at stg4. What tyres are you on?

Welcome and it sounds like your car is similarly specced to mine -

Thanks for the helpful reply Bob!
The Tires are from Litchfield and they are the Michelin Pilot super sport and are nearly new, great grip.

Its been raining here all day Im off for a week so will have investigate the rattle, sounds like a loose bolt in a hole jumping about?
I love this car such a capable machine its unreal, I have had two decent Audis before this, and was looking at a RS5/RS3 glad I gave this car a chance
