Importing from japan jdm spec

Hi all, considering importing a gtr r35 from the auctions in japan so the car would need type approval, registration and what other changes would need to happen .who carries out type approval?
what if any software updates needed or any other advice
kind regards
D

Why bother? It's a lot of Agro for a car that already exists and is readily available in this country.

The sat nav won't work, you can't change the language on the MFD or the dash etc

+1, spot on, just no point and worth less when you come to sell so not worth it

for the R35 its totally pointless importing one.

in the early days it was, due to the price difference, now esp on the 35 its just not worth it, not just because it will cost you more, but because of all the points listed above

loads of 35s available in the UK

JDM R35 will cost you around £35k plus to import mate ;-)

they are worth more than UK versions if imported fresh - in the future say 10 years time then it will be worth importing over due to better condition etc..

I have imported before although not a gtr back in 1998 , i see from the auctions that gtr could e viable if we take a 2013 gtr low mileage ,how much are we looking at to get on the road in the uk in your opinion? cheers d
