Hi everyone, my names Stefan, 24years old and I'm looking at the possibility of getting a GTR in the near future just wanted to know if there's anything I should look at or be aware of before taking the leap?

I've heard servicing costs can be high (it's going to be with a performance motor) but how how much is it roughly?

Any other known problems?

It will be used for a weekend car with the occasional trip into work (90 miles round trip)

Really love the GTR and have been convincing myself for the last 6 months!

Currently own a UG focus RS running stage 2, owned it for the past 2 and a bit years. I absolutely love it to bits but there's an itch I need to scratch with the GTR, will hopefully be going for a test drive in one in the next few months.

(Sorry if this is the wrong section to be posting in)

Welcome stefan, look into your nearest NHPC or GTR specialist for servicing prices, as said theres loads of info on here just try a search. Running wise i get about 250 miles to a full tank which is around £80, thats a small town and A and B roads, on the motorways i am sure you could get more out of it. You wont regret buying one tho thats for sure

250 miles from a tank that's decent, I get around 250 from £70 in the RS so it's bearable it's just the servicing I'm cautious about mainly but I'll do some digging
Hopefully should get in one soon!!!

Where in the country are you? As said, do some searching on here as there is loads of info. Then peruse some of the speacialists sites for service and upgrade costs (litchfield imports, svm, ac speedtech).

What sort of budget are you looking at?

And welcome mate.

Hi i went from a focus RS stage 4 - dont regret it one bit but beware the gtr cost twice as much to run than the RS - petrol ave 15mpg tyres @£300 each brakes crazy money - just brought some disc and pads - servicing and tuning parts expensive too compared to the RS

Hi mate, I think the GTR is the next step up from the RS although I do love it I think its time to move on. Yea its the only bit I am concerned about is the servicing but I don't do track days and it wont exactly be ragged around so hopefully should get a good bit of ware from the tyres and pads/disks. Hopefully can get my hands on a GTR already with the Y Pipe and maybe stage 1/2 Map that would be more then enough for me

Check out Kaiser motors - also perhaps ask if you can pop down and talk to Sly, he'll probably give you a good insight.
Kaizer Motor Company - The Nissan GTR Specialist

Or pop along to a meet - there's a Silverstone trackday on the 25th Sep that will be well represented with gtroc members and cars

Servicing costs can also vary between HPCs. Had two quotes for 4th year service, one being £300 more than the other. As others have said do your homework and you won't regret it
