What symptoms do you get from a faulty steering lock. Does the car just not start?

No symptoms that I'm aware of, just lets you down when you really don't want it to.

Correct.
Nissan/dealers fix it under warranty free of charge so its well worth getting done as there will be no warning that its going to happen.

Mine stopped on Friday and had to get the flat bed out.
Dropped off on Monday to Middlehurst and picked it up next day (Great service).
I wish i had red this thread first and got it done before it stopped. If you have't, get them phoned ASAP. they will check your reg and let you know if it's covered..

Was you there when I collected mine Dazis? About 4pm today.

Chronos 6th January 2015 09:08 PM

Just glad I got mine done just before christmas 2014, As said mine was seeping out the lubricant when John checked it, and this causes the circuit issue, that makes the car unable to start.

10 mins to swap it out as well, with the replacement recall part

Top team middlehursts.

Hi matthewk

Yes it was me. Sorry i didn't get chance to chat. It was a bit of a whirlwind and I had a friend outside who dropped me off waiting to see if all was well.

Hope yours is running well again. It's strange being without it. How sad is that!

Darren.

matthewk 7th January 2015 10:21 PM

yes it is

ifty 8th January 2015 10:41 AM

Better get booking mine in :)

matthewk 8th January 2015 01:01 PM

Get it done, it fails due to the bad weather so like me it will most likely fail in a cold night at a petrol station.

swoody123 8th January 2015 11:06 PM

so any dealer will cover this under warranty ? or is it just middlehurst doing it..
my car is an M16-03 limited addition that middlehurst done..mite have to drop a pm to see if it was done when they had it there.

matthewk 8th January 2015 11:43 PM

Any dealer, its not under warranty, its a recall.

You can login to Nissan You+ and it will tell you if there is an outstanding recall on your car.
