Give me your best head

Thing is I don't know anything about my head
only thing I know is it has step two cams !

Now I will be taking my engine out for two reasons

1. My starter motor has gone
2. Got oil leak coming from sump and sump bolt is spin loose on rread

While its out I want to polish and port the head but I don't know much about head work so,

how would you guys build a head for a 2.8 with 2530 tubbys

unless your experienced in doing headwork, i would send it to a machine shop who nows what they are doing, otherwise you can end up making a right mess of your head.

All depends on how much you want to spend if money is no object I would do this

Amt full port job
Oversized valves
Amt valve seat job
Amt custom cams
Bronze valve guides
Double valve springs
Titanium retainers

If money is a object and your looking for bang for buck

Full port job
Amt custom cams
Double valve springs
Bronze valve guides

Dan

Completely agree unless you have a flow bench it's really hard to no if what your doing is the right or wrong way to go it's not a simple as pulling a air grinder out

What vcam you going for? Would be interesting to see say a step 1 vcam kit what costs over 2k tested against some right fancy high lift cams

There's always CNCHeads...

Their offerings always look pretty decent although no idea of flow numbers etc..

I would highly recommend Dave Andrews very good workmanship and he has vast experience in porting work. He did a couple of heads for me in the past.

I asked Abbey about polish and port work a few years ago on my 33 but it's not something they could do.
