Mine's ecu help
Hi guys, Im buying a mines complete ecu, but have no idea what stage its mapped for. Nor does the guy im buying it off, but he has told me that he has run 1.2 bar safely without det.
Is there any way of finding out which version ecu it is??maybe numbers from the serial/plaque?? any help would be much appreciated... Thanks Shabs...

Basically MINES mapped the ECU according to customer's tuning specs.
You will need to find out what tuning bits were on the previous car. There is no way to find out from the plaque or serial number. As far as I know most of MINES ECU are usually mapped at 1.0 bar maximum , but might run more . Again it depends on what were the tuning specs of the original car.

![]() Most Mine's VX-ROM's that arrive in this country are what is known as the 'retail spec', a generic version sold 'off the shelf' by Mine's for cars in what we would term as stage one tune.
Which means induction, exhaust, steel internal turbos, stock fuelling and optional boost controller, with a limit of 1.2bar. I believe that this ECU can cope with 2530's, but I am guessing at only 1 bar. My Mine's ECU is one of these and the car produced 350+ bhp & 300+ ft/lb at 1.2 bar. A single 'hard' tweak of the fuel map was carried out by Abbey during the mapping. The Mine's VX-ROM is a fantastic ECU and my car idled & ran really smoothly. I would be very surprised if the VX-ROM you have is a genuine custom map unit, but the ONLY safe way to go if you want to use it is get it mapped at a Skyline specialist.

Hello guysThanks for that...I havnt bought it yet, but am in the process of taking it off his hands for £190.
He said that the car had 2 apexi filters, and an exhaust system. He ran it on 1.2 bar without det on tesco 99ron fuel. His afr's on boost were 11.9:1 he says that he has only dyno'd the car once with this Ecu. This was at 0.6bar (Boost solenoid was not plumbed in) and made 329bhp. and he ran the car at Elvington with this ecu and ran 11.89/11.92 at 1.1bar Thanks

I didnt think abbey could mod the mines ecu - the fuelling tweek - I assume this was to the car not the ecu - perhaps the old denting the top of the fuel pressure regulator to increase the pressure?
