Yes, thats only way, bnr32 is only model you can pull fuse off and drift, if you do that to 33 or 34 you will worn your transfercase.

Grid dancer in 2wd mode will destroy transfercase also, I bought my car and it has grid dancer, and transfercase's clutchpack was badly burnt. Thank you mr previous owner.

I've read of some guys that run in 2WD without any issues to the transfer box without pulling out the front shaft..
Only unplug a connector, turn on the car, push the brake until the 4WD light start flashing.

What about using the ETS-PRO "fullrace"?

Be aware that disabling the 4WD on the R33 by putting it into fault mode will lock in a small amount of pressure to the transfer pack. That will diminish in a few hours, maybe upto 24. You will then have free running RWD.
