Dash cam recommendations

Hi guys.
In the market for a decent dash cam for the GTR.
Would like best possible resolution (1080p), wifi capability to link to phone or tablet for playback, gps, small enough to put behind the rear view mirror so not obvious, and ideally be able to hardware it for parking protection so when away from the car it will record if my car is knocked - as we all know some people don't always give a toss about other peoples cars!
I've spent ages trying to find the best one and reading reviews but am finding it difficult to get one that ticks all the boxes.
I originally considered blackvue models but some questionable resolution on reviews, and looked at transcend models too but not sure about hardwiring possibility.
I'm sure plenty of you guys have them, so any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks

YEP had one on the last 4 new cars, it saved me from loosing a case against a lorry firm who claimed the large amount of stone chip damage from their aggregate carrying truck with a hole in floor, was just regular stone chips from the road.
£10K in total with hire cars and re-paint windscreen ect ect on a new M6 GC CP.
Once my Video was viewed, it was a job done.
Worth there weight in gold these Blackvue Cameras.
PS) more than one car was badly damaged from this incidence.

Do these once hard-wired, also record when you are away from the car & the ignition is off?
If so, do they pick up on motion, contact with the car or record on a loop. If loop, how long or is that dependent on hard/flash drive size??

Also, do they come with a smart wire, so if the car battery falls below a certain level, it cuts off to prevent further drain?

Cheers
Iggy

John / Takamo - which model do you recommend for the Blackvue then?

I've also been looking at the following - looks decent. What do you guys reckon?

Blackvue 100% mate I've just fitted front and rear to my car and the quality is amazing... Even through a limo black tint in the back window... Wired mine up to the cig lighter in the center and the wires are easy to hide

Wife's Q5 was hit on saturday by a reversing lorry.

Driver got out and told me it was all my fault as I reversed into the space he was backing into.

He was bordering on aggressive when I pointed out that I hooted five or six times when I saw his reversing lights come on. He calmed down when I pointed to the camera and said, it doesn't matter, it's all on camera anyway.

Thankfully I took the details of an independent witness, as it turned out the camera wasn't plugged in. My wife was getting sick of the "please format the SD card" voice alerts and so unplugged it. Useless!

It's plugged back in now.

People forget you have to reformat the SD card from time to time to stop recording errors creeping in.

I tend to do this every three or four months and it stops any issues.

We use the blackvue in a fair number of work vehicles and they seem pretty reliable.
Tried the roadhawk DC-2 from a forum member but they are causing more issues than the Blackvue, as well as being more bulky.

Once you'd put one or two in they are VERY easy to wire in too.
Just a live and earth to piggyback off the fuse of your choice, depending if you need full time recording or just when the ignition is on.
20-30 minutes is all it takes once you know what you are doing and where you can tuck the cable out of sight.

Her's is the wifi model. You can reformat in situ by holding down the wifi button.

Works a treat.

As it happens I plugged hers back in and it was fine.

Just for clarity, the fuse box mentioned is in the driver's footwell next to the accelerator, all of the fuses are in the BUT THEIR LAYOUT IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT - just take care.

I guess it took me an hour in total!!!
