nah..
looks to me like it's just being supported during the installation, but probably not the best practice due to the shaft bearings

Indeed, a simple case of soldering the correct jumpers on the back of the clocks.

I think I followed a guide on the other (GTS) skyline forum.

I selected jumpers by trial and error until displayed speed exactly matched GPS (Satnav speed)
