Bonnet alignment

Hi wonder if anyone can help?

Noticed the other day my bonnet is not sitting level. There is twice as much gap on the passenger side when viewed from the front ( sitting high )

Is there a way other than twisting the bonnet to adjust the gap ?

I am really puzzled how it has happened as there have been no impacts or signs of the bonnet being forced up.

It actually looks like my bonnet catch has been released from the side view.

Thanks in advance

Jon

Try pushing the support strut up a little when its clicked in place (just before closing the bonnet). You'll probably see where part of the head of the strut is rubbing against the underside of the bonnet by marking on the paintwork.
let go of the bonnet from about half a foot above and it should close properly

Very few R35 bonnets sit flush with the bumper all the way acrosss. Seems to be something they can't get right at the factory. Have a good look next time you're in a NHPC showroom. You'll also notice micro scratch swirling on the paint where they clean them with spray polish but don't remove the dust first.

The rubber bump stops on the bonnet twist in and out to adjust the hight of the bonnet when closed

Thanks for the replies everyone. I tried to adjust the rubber bump on the side that was high to no effect. This morning I increased the height of the one on the other side and strangely this has reduced the gap on opposite side ???

Anyway there is now a nice close all the way across Don't feel like everyone is laughing at my bonnet anymore

Cheers
Jon

Raising the other side has pushed the high side down (with the bonnet pivoting in the centre catch).

If you take off the plastic shroud off the bonnet stays you can turn clock or anti-clockwise and this should help with sorting a level bonnet.

Have been suffering the same problem of the bonnet touching the wings when it is about 1/3rd open.

The bonnet gaps are identical both sides, the car has not had any accidents, so not sure why there has been a change.

Picture shows the bonnet closed.

Here is the bonnet 6 inches open.

At about 15 inches open, the bonnet touches the wing.

Can't see what might be adjusted on the hinge ( plastic cover removed)

Maybe the hinge needs some lubrication, can anyone advise?

Spotted some bonnet hinge pictures.

Not sure that they show any level of adjustment, but interesting to see.
