Dyno results part two*** results and graph

Well......

Some of you may have read my last results and there was a bit of a question mark over there accuracy, a question mark that was rightly justified

Well....

Today i was given a golden opportunity, Tweenierob has had my car for the last week or so fitting my new pullies and tarty bits, along with the full defi range/boost controller etc
Rob's friend is in the process of purchasing a rolling road, Perfect Touch in Hoddesdon Herts. Dyno Dynamics were there today with a mobile dyno

Rob phoned me yesterday to ask if i minded putting my car on the dyno again, maybe to get some figures to back up the last power figures (or not).
Petrol and free power runs... HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!

They run a 330ci which was one of Perfect Touches technicians cars, book figure is 230hp IIRC and it made 233 which made Jay very happy. He had never put a car of his on a dyno before and was dreading getting less than the book figure or spitting pistons out

So, sales pitch continued and it was time to strap my car on.... Now i dont pretend to understand how the dyno works but to start with the guy from Dyno Dynamics showed how the dyno had enough traction to put the power down in 1st gear, even i was impressed!

He ran through some more stuff to the Perfect Touch guys and then got on with some power runs...

Rob had remapped the car last night due to having proper boost control now, adjusting cam timing and made sure everything was ok.

They did 5 runs in the car, the last two runs were at 1.5bar peak and 1.3bar held. Run 4 was 563.8hp and run 5 was 563.1hp at the wheels figure was 475hp.

Most impressive was the jump from 404ftlb to 492ftlb, Rob said he was liking the extra boost and cam timing Boost also comes in much harder now.

All in all i am happy as a pig in shit!

The car was run with Tesco 99 fuel, 1.5bar peak with 1.3bar held and run in shootout mode on the dyno.
The only unfortunate thing with the graph is that the rpm pick up missed a beat on the first run so there is a slight rpm glitch which you can see on the graph.

Massive thanks to Perfect Touch, Finally a 4wd rolling road is coming to Hoddesdon Herts!! They provided the fuel and the dyno use, Claudio/jay and the guys... i have a new home!

Fancy a swap for the Lambo?

Mike from Dyno Dynamics, quailty rollers!!!!!!!!

What can i say about Tweenierob..... Ive got gauges coming out of my ears, a great engine bay and some nice power

Chris

Hi guys

it Mike Here from Dyno Dynamics

I've not posted on here in years !!

glad to hear you were pleased with the Dyno - i'm sure there is a bit more grunt to be had from the car if you wanted to push it a bit harder - but the power it made was effortless and more power may push you out of the compressor map efficiency

What did you think of the Dyno ?

you can see some video's of some cars we have run before here

Forgot to say, Nismoalex, if you're reading this, by strange coincidence I met the chap who bought your car yesterday at Perfect Touch. Small world or what? Thoroughly nice bloke albeit not what I'd call a typical skyline owner

Hey Chris.

Ye Barry is a top bloke .... and believe me I was shocked when he first come to see the car ! hahah

He actually called me yesterday to say that someone had a look over the car..... and gave a good review.... plus found some other mods that I thought were on the car but was not sure..

I was wondering which garage he'd gone to .....

Cheers fella

It's so refreshing to know that I now own a REAL 500bhp car

After a quick drive home last night I can now safely say that I have absolutely no intentions of carrying out any further power mods. Might even ask Rob to drop the boost off a bit

Will definately be attending a few drag meets next year, will let you know.

Chris
