My word. Not sure how I've missed this thread. The subtle mods that you've made really make this awesome @G2GUV - very very nice.

I'm new to the R35 world and I am looking at more cosmetic, than power (for now), but I am in Belfast and the list of options I have locally is almost nil :P

Driveability of the car is all in the mapping. In my experience, you can pretty much throw on a combination of parts and get poor results if the mapping isn't executed accurately - and vice versa.
I've had an eventful journey setting up my car to drive the way it does today. Syvecs is a lot different to Ecutek/Cobb etc. Tuning your factory ecu via a hack like Ecutek or cobb is far far easier than calibrating a standalone ecu like Syvecs.
My car today drives absolutely amazing. In a low calibration map for around town driving, I would say its pretty much on par with any other stage 1-2 cars out there. Its taken time to get there, constantly tweeking torque tables, clutch pressures etc - but when you want to unleash all the ponies, you truely appreciate a standalone ecu. Syvecs is a MUST imo on any high power car.
More important than your choice of ecu is your choice of tuner/mapper. I have no doubt whatsoever that some amazingly talented ecutek master tuner will make an ecutek car out perform a poorly mapped syvecs/motec car. But if both are mapped/calibrated to perfection - syvecs is in a world of its own.

Thanks for the reply G2GUV,thats pretty much what i expected, alot of people think you can just throw an standalone ecu @ a combination and it gets you the drivability of a production car, even though there self learning to a point lol.one easly forgets that production stuff has thousands of hours of mapping to get them perfect,im not @ all familiar with the svvecs systems, but have done work with Motec and run that ecu on my own car M800,which is at the point of getting the drive ability where i need it to be,before i even go racing with it.so i appreciate your experience and input of your journey. Thanks again
regards Marc..

So its been an amazing year with this car at this power level. Absolutely savage in every way possible.

The beast was recently treated to a 12 injector upgrade so I could turn it up a touch more without worrying about fuelling issues. I also treated the car to some Flyride headlights with colour changing lightening bolts with strobe and flash as indicators and colour changing projector lamps - all controlled by an app on my phone.

Sadly - I suffered some crank flex enroute Silverstone Japfest a couple of weeks ago. Ended up spinning a main bearing and damaging the block.

All is in hand now - and Im really excited about the plans moving forward. Car will be back on the road asap - bigger and better!!!
