Been an eventful 3 months in this car.

End of July - we entered our GTR Cartel team at Ten of The Best. Overall - we came 2nd as a team. My car performed brilliant throughout the event. Was a wet saturday for testing - but I ended up running the fastest GTR time ever in the wet at totb. 10.37 @ 161mph with a 2.20 60 ft.
Sunday was much better weather. The car was flawless - and ran without any issues. Nothing stripped out or off apart from swapping to a duckbill bootlid.
I trapped 200.9mph in half mile, 9.21 @168mph was my best time in 1/4 mile. This got me into the finals shootout at the end of the event. Sadly I got paired up with Jurgens immense JUN-R1 in the semi final shootout. Lol. What a car that is. It turned out to be an awesome race as I managed to cling onto his back bumper all the way down the 1/4 mile. So I came 3rd overall. Again, all expectations exceeded. The car drove to and from the event without issue.

Next stop for me was VMAX! I had never attended VMAX200 events before- so thought I'd go and pop my cherry. Event was early last month in Kendrew Barracks. I had attended a GTRDC Runway day there before and won the event with 222.4mph being my best terminal speed in a standing mile.

At Vmax - the target was 246mph! Lol! Those Koenigseggs have held the top 2 spots for a very long time now, so I thought I'd give it a good crack in my fat Datsun at full street weight. After an initial warmup/sighting run, it was time to to complete my first full 1 mile pass to see how the car felt, before we increased the rev limit a little more in attempt to top the leaderboard!
I lined up ready to unleash the beast and shot off down the runway. The car felt soooo amazing. Just stayed planted and kept on pulling and pulling and pulling! I was smiling in my helmet already preparing the call to Romain (my mapper) to increase the rev limit for the next run. But it wasn't meant to be!
I came to the 1 mile trap and the brake board an instantly slammed on the brakes after transferring weight to the front of the car. Within a couple of seconds - it was obvious I was never going to stop!

A quick decision to try and attempt a sharp left hand turn at the end of the runway at 130+ mph turned out to be the best decision ever. I managed to keep it out of the wall and hay stacks but ended up going through a boundary fence hurting the front bumper and windscreen. Clearly someone was watching over me. The car was sent straight to JM Imports for a full check over and literally NOTHING but the front bumper and windscreen needed replacing.

I was standing by my car at the end of the runway feeling sorry for myself and counting my lucky stars when I got the phonecall from friends in the pits. 240.1 MPH!!!!!!!!!!!! YES 240.1 MPH IN A STANDING MILE AND THAT WAS MY TEST RUN BEFORE TURNING HER UP!!!

Result! The FASTEST GTR EVER AT VMAX200!!! No GTR has ever gone faster at this event! My car now holds the 3rd spot in the ALL TIME VMAX Leaderboard! The only 2 cars ahead of me are both Koenigseggs and were both driven by their test drivers, at 242mph and 245mph! I'm truly overwhelmed by my 240mph run especially knowing that the car had a fair bit more to go yet.

A quick call to Top Secret Japan resulted in a complete front bumper being made available for me within 24 hours which Buzz had air shipped over for me within 2 days.

Time was against us as the GTR Cartel Santa Pod day was fast approaching. Kream Developments pulled out all the stops to get the new bumper fitted up and we decided to temporarily wrap the front section of the car in satin black as there was no time to paint. The temporary look has really grown on me.

The car drove to Santapod on the 10th and again - performed flawlessly run after run. My personal target was to get this ultimate street beast into 8 secs. My best time of the day ended up being 8.38 secs @ 167mph!!! I managed 2 x 8.3second runs - backing up my times. The track became really slippery after this, and I simply couldn't keep the power down! I went on to qualify, and win the shootouts and won the event overall. AGAIN - the car drove to the event, put on a great show, over delivered and DROVE HOME AGAIN! This car is no trailer queen. Truly is an immense street car, at full weight. I even have a full upgraded sound system with twin subwoofers in the boot. Lol.

This year has been absolutely fantastic with this car! We are back out at Santapod this coming Saturday at Flame & Thunder, but I have decided to not run the car. All expectations this year have been exceeded by far! I just dont feel the need to push the car anymore. Time to hang up my gloves and just relax. Maybe we can raise the bar again next year if need be?

Just cannot thank the team I have around me and this car enough - JM Imports, Race Develpments, Boost Logic, Kream Developments to mention a few. Now I plan to rest my R35 for a while whilst my attention turns to my R33 and R34. Time to start having some fun in the classics.

Hat's off Rocky, amazing car my friend!
I didn't think you could improve on the looks (bar the window bonnet) before either but she's a beauty pal.

All SHOW and all GO...

Hats off to you Rocky!

I've been following all this on Instagram, LLF and Kream. You absolutely smashed it... not to mention your friend calling out the Hulk lol. You guys are on a another level.

Feet up mate, but looking forward to seeing what you bring next year.

PS I want to see more on that R33!

Such a bad ass car you have raised the bar this year in the looks and performance department. And am glad it’s been a reliable car too now just time to sit back and enjoy it.
