1000cc injectors not a chance

Why do some tuners and owners quote big power figures from there engine's when running 1000cc injectors, when they cant
flow enough fuel to back it up.

Not naming anyone but there are a few

Dcd

Wrong this is about me wanting to find out how some people think
that they can get over 1000ps / 1000bhp from them

It is just that we found the limit of the 1000cc injectors a while ago.

Hi Dcd

The cars that I have seen have only had one set fitted,i have also
seen power figures as high as 1200 bhp being quoted ??

Firstly the flow rates of all 1000cc injectors are not equal. Also higher fuel pressure combined with say water injection (which would allow you to map the car leaner) which in turn would lower inj duties. Therefor you would not need such larger injectors. The japs love using smaller injecters for the better atomisation.

However in aswer to your question reference rogue power figures, I think the terminal speed is the biggest indicator of power.

There are too many variables for a definative answer to any of this..
Why use a smaller injector for better atomisation when it's duty cycle is very high and it's spraying on the back of a mostly shut inlet valve, pooling the fuel again?
Why use a bigger injector to time better when it doesn't atomise as well in the first place?
Head porting, venturi effect and combustion chamber shape will also make a difference as well, and will be different on each engine.
Is there really that much difference in atomisation between a 1000cc injector and a 1200cc injector?
Why not go bigger and increase the fuel pressure to atomise the fuel better and lower the duty cycle further?

Terminal speed over a set distance that is shorter than the distance required for that vehicle to reach its maximum speed is more a result of power to weight ratio and aerodynamics.

Just a thought.

I thought there was a rule of thumb that said... about 500cc of fuel, to make 100hp....

I was told by a uk tuner that if you go to 500 bhp go for 500cc, 600 bhp 600cc 700bhp 700cc etc etc...

There is some good information here: http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm#WORKSHEET

if you run high fuel pressure, and over 80% duty cycle.. then it is, according to the calculator, possible to make 1000hp with 1000cc injectors....

But this is theory.... what happens in real life is another question hehe..

MEOW hang bags at dawn...or pistols if you want to be hard.....

I used to like you Keith when you went fastest in the UK I thought fair play , but now you pushing just to far.

I think it is best to keep quiet until the season begins then we will see some fights on the track.

I try to start a new thread about max power from injector's that
could have a bit of technical info put into it something this fourm has
not seen for a while and all you can do is post.

LOL......well lets have a mine is bigger than yours thread.....

If you cant take a bit of banter don't hand it out

I had answered it on another thread the other day if you rememeber. I took the dig bout melting plugs etc as a snipe towards us at ABBEY. If you read your first post on this thread you start it on the wrong foot...

I can be some good technical info into this if I wanted but what ever I say I get shot down......I act just like everyone else on here.

think I may go and burn some energy off out on my mountain bike....better fun me thinks

Mick

On the way to Brunters the car was in the transporter
we did not melt anything it was the head gasket.
The engine was taken out of the car and sold in perfect condition
not bad for all the hard work that it had done.
