Only a few S15 pics to go then i will move on.

It was such a shame to sell this car after pouring in 6 years of my life and a lot of money modifying it, but i couldn't really have 3 sports cars and i was ready to move to a more sensible and comfortable daily driver after driving modified cars from age 18 to 34. It sold to the first guy that looked at it, a mature 44yo that i was confident wouldn't wrap it around a tree and for my full asking price so i couldn't be too sad, right!? Plus it did feel good to give back to the car community by selling someone a good quality car i knew they would enjoy.

I had a lot of fun with this car, zero issues with reliably and the police so it was time to quit while i was ahead and move on. It would have made more sense to sell the R32 but i have put even more time and effort into that car so the emotional attachment is much higher. Even though i lost money on the S15 the experiences and memories along the way as well all know are priceless and for many of us tick off goals and achievements in our lives we have that non car enthusiasts will never understand.

Closing out February I had some tyres fitted to the LMGT4's for the R32 and also put the new nismo stickers on. These wheels are just for street use and/or driving to the track, since the wheels are probably a little big i decided to try stretched tyres for the first time.

I have R33 gtr wheels with semi slicks i will use for track work at some point. Overall im very happy with how it turned out. I had always wanted to have a set of LMGT4's with the concave spoke on the R32.

A few pics of how the R32 looked with the new wheel and tyre combo.

I also had a brand new genuine N1 front bar, vents and lower lip finally painted after years of waiting, so i wasted no time in fitting that up at the same time i put the wheels on. I was beyond happy to have the gtr kit finally completed and to get back to the calsonic style with the white wheels. Whenever i see the blue and white together i cant help but think of the blue sky and white clouds that often make a very nice skyline

I had also grown tired of the ganador mirrors that had been on the car for some 12 years and decided to go back to the original side mirrors. IMO the ganadors just don't suit the R32 at all, they suit the R33 and R34 much better. I will try and get some updated pics with the original mirrors back on the car.

March came around and by this stage i had advertised the S15 and within a week had a deposit. Man i was glad it sold to the first person to look at it, i really wasn't looking forward to the tyre kickers, time wasters and w4nkers.


Back to the R34...

I had also ordered in some gtr literature and a couple of cabin filters for the gtr. By mid march the nismo intercooler piping had also turned up. I think it was the day the S15 left so i had some sort of consolation prize

I didnt waste much time in changing the cabin filter and fitting one of the intercooler pipes in the engine bay

Wrapping up March was the HKS type-r intercooler(couldn't get Nismo),Project Mu brake pads and also a second hand but barely used set of Tomei type-r poncams. The car came with Tomei type-b poncams and Tomei valve springs along with some porting of the head. The turbos fitted to the car are the Garrett gt860-7's which i believe are the same as the Nismo R1 turbos (I would prefer -9's with a 2.6). I found the type-b cams to be too laggy without offering any benefit to top end power with the smallish turbos. I would have been happy to use stock cams but since the car had the valve springs already fitted i thought it would be a shame no to at least run a basic set of upgraded cams.

I also removed the lap timer switch from the gear stick surround and replaced it with a switch i wired into the Greddy profec-b boost controller to switch between high and low boost.

The HC800 pads i had used in the S15 and loved them so it was a no brainer to try them in the R34.

Not that much happened in April that i can remember, i mostly sat around with tears in my eyes looking at pics of the S15 I took the gtr for a drive up in the mountains to help me forget about it.

Some other parts i had bought arrived such as the nismo inlet plenum and midori ti front pipes. I was disappointed to find out the pipes are different sizes with the one that mounts to the rear turbo being smaller in diameter, I guess midori must have their reasons for this

I had also chased up the under engine cover that fits behind the front diffuser and also the missing under bonnet mat to suit the vspec 2 bonnet.

May 2016

I had looked at getting one of the Nismo Weldina NE-1 exhausts brand new but the price was seriously out of control. So when one came up second hand for a great price i had to have it. Even better was the fact it was located only about an hours drive away so i could pick it up and not have to pay for or organise the shipping.

I was able to sell the HKS super turbo for more than what the Nismo exhaust cost which was a bonus On top of that i sold the Blitz front pipes, the high flow cat and the Midori front pipes which helped top up the old spending account.

The NE-1 had been in storage for years but being high quality stainless steel i knew i would be able to polish back to its former glory. It took me about 13-15 hours of time to do by hand but it was well worth the effort.

Here is a couple of pics the seller put up of the exhaust.

The Nismo gt diffuser fin set also arrived

All finished

I ordered a new set of Nismo gaskets for the exhaust and a threw in the Nismo sports air filter and valve caps while i was at it. Also seen is a new thermostat and the half moon and cam seals for when the cams get swapped over.

After that work was done i took the car for a nice drive up in the mountains, i love the fresh air and winding roads you find up there.

As the car was fitted with a Power FC D-Jetro i wanted to switch to the L-Jetro version for now so i took the afm's off the car and gave them a good clean.

I also picked up the nismo iphone cover lol

Lovely updates. The Nismo GT fins are simply stunning. I have a brand new set and I have to say they look even better in person. So much nicer than the factory fins.

Thanks Kadir, you're right they are even better in person, they cost a ridiculous amount but you can see why when you have them in hand. When you compare them to how much the oem Nissan ones are it isn't that much extra to have the Nismo ones. My oem ones were a bit banged up so it was a no brainer to get the Nismo set
