72 month service pricing!

Hi guys

My GTR is due its 72 month service and was wondering what kind of prices people have paid for this? Can I compare quotes from HPCs and ask my local one to match?

Thanks

Depends where you are, some will price match, Cribbs in Bristol does. Price from an NHPC will be around £1400 which is a bit steep to say the least. If you get a quote from an Independant Cribbs will price match that.

Price at Litchfield is £830 as a benchmark, similar independents such as AutoTorque will probably be around £40 less.

If I were you I'd definitely take the car to someone like Litchfield, you will pay less and get a much better service.

Closest specialist to Scotland??

£1400 does seem a bit steep! Is there anything I could save on if I do go to a Nissan HPC such as buying own oil filters etc

Thanks

I think you'll find it's the labour rates that kill the price. I was paying an HPC £120 per hour over four years ago so I've no idea what they're charging now. You are in an unfortunate position, geographically speaking.

Yeah the labour rate is high, was £163 per hour last year probably more now.

They only quote 4 hours for a 72k mile service, the rest is materials, they charge in the region of £470 just for the gearbox oil, £85 for engine oil, £75 brake fluid, so AA3751 yes ask if you can supply your own fluids, some don't mind, but £660 for 4 hours labour is still a gut wrencher!

Garage-R in Glasgow or JM-Imports in Newcastle are your nearest specialists.

G3 72 month/54,000 mile service. Replaced spark plugs , gasket clutch learn ,torqued wheels and filters, oils, brake fluid and general health check . And free coffee or tea ( self service unfortunately ). Done in 4 hours for £1100. Not bad .

Not good mate, but I accept they're in it to make a profit, nobody works for nothing.

A 72k service on a CBA GTR is around the £800 inc vat mark, the variations across the independents is likely to be the difference in labour rates and quality level of fluids used. However... Most people are not running OEM air filters by now so that could be dropped... Most people will change their brake fluid due to necessity or with a brake upgrade so that may have been done... It would be worth checking previous service records and invoices.
