There are dry-sumped RB26s around - I don't think that anyone makes a specific kit though.

This is why im thinking of selling and getting a R32 track car!

Well I know for a fact that Flugplatz (sp) has killed plenty a GTR engine at the ring. I'm not so sure that a mere mortal like myself could reach the sorts of cornering speeds to casue oil surge on the ring, but i'm sure on a fast open UK circuit like Thruxton, it wouldn't be too hard. The question i suppose is HOW hard do you have to push to pass the cars limits?

I still don't get how such a track bred car could have such a huge weakness?!!?

regarding DIY Yunis, I have an engine crane etc, it's just the fear of the unknown.

Id love to do this myself! Ive got a nice big garage that can take the car and still leave 2-3m all around to work in, just the prospect of taking the engine out is something I dont think I have the paitence/ability to take on!

thats the problem i have..no garage, i mean doing the brakes was a challenge in itself, ie i had to wait 5 weeks till the weather got better before i could do them..

Give me a garage and ill rip open and rebuild an engine in no time.. and no, i will take one to bits outside my flat again...

took a good 3 week the engine was wheeled on the skate board, and into the lift up 2 floors and the work began much to the anger and frustraion of my misses who went balistic!!

that said engine pumped out 320 bhp and never missed a beat!

The garage is a god send...

The novelty of being able to leave it there in what ever state I want and knowing I can just lock it all away will take along time to wear off!

my brother would do it, he dropped a Fiat coupe 2.0 litre turbo into a Fiat Punto, so he's got the skills, but wouldn't want to give him the responsibility, as if he did miss something, how could i blame him.

I wonder if Ron can do anything when he removes the turbos'"?"?"

3 hours to remove the engine, a further 1 to remove the sump plus say 3 hours to fit the extension and 1 to put it back on, 4 hours to put it back in the car and add another 2 hours in case something goes wrong = 14 hours labour.

Dont know where the other 7 hours went? I'm estimating here, but I cant see me being 50% out. I'll see what my brother thinks tonight

Pikey,

3 hours to take out, 4 hours to refit. Well you better come and work for us.

Tell you what come and do it in front of me and I will give you a 100 quid if you can do it. I even lend you a ramp.

It will take you an hour to clean the sump face alone.

strip out the diff from the sump before you weld it 3 hours maybe?

Oil,filter and sump lug washer , coolant , proper Nissan gasket paste is £25-00 a tube..and dont say use silicone because it isnt as good as the Nissan stuff......

It is easy to sit there and say that is to much money and Yunis it was us that quoted that money which I think is a fair price. You think Tony can be sharp..wait until you bump into me one day....lol

or you could drive to Scotland with a dump valve leaking and have your car mapped.......

waiting for the shit to be sent......

Its reasons like this that will mean I dont keep the Skyline for ever.

I simply dont earn enough to be able to do what I would like to/with it and it is all rather frustrating!

Fair shout to Mark for his honesty here though

It is a lot of money for what you get, but it is a lot of work too.

It's not a hard job either. All you can do is look for cheaper labour rates.

You pays you money, you takes your chance...
