N1 motor price check
I'm in the midst of putting a new drivetrain my R34 N1 and have the old long block with about 100k km on it. I pulled basically everything off of it to swap to the new motor, so it's just the complete short block with water/oil pumps, and the complete head still attached. I moved my crank gears and goodies over to the new motor, so there's no timing belt in place.
Compression was good when I pulled it and the motor was happily making power, but it was definitely run long in between oil changes in Japan at some point. It has the requisite JDM dark oil stains and some burning around the cams. So it's not a perfect motor, but it is functionally healthy and is only being replaced to go with my HKS 2.8l in the car instead.
What do you guys think this "longish block" would be worth these days? I know that N1 blocks are hard to come by and this one's complete [minus the timing components]... but it's definitely not immaculate. I've got a pretty broad range in my head of what to ask for it... particularly now that Nismo are out of N1 blocks. Any thoughts?
