Strange Noise

Hi Guys,

Recently the GTR has started making a New noise was hoping someone might have had a similar issue or it might be nothing!

I have a 2013 GTR,

I know they have loud Gearboxs/Constant Moving Drive Shafts so you get a lot of noise anyways. But this is a New one.

Basically when it Engages drive and when you let off it makes a pretty loud Clicking/knocking noise just when you engage the Throttle or let off as if the Drive shaft is knocking when it gets power.
Know I am not mechanically Minded what so ever so I am probably so wrong just thought i would ask on here incase something is about to go Bang and I can fix it first.

Any Advice or Help would be Appreciated.

Thanks

Does it sound like its coming from the front centre console? Could be the bellhousing, does it speed up with very gentle throttle input?

Well if you have the Windows open it just sounds like its coming from under the Car.
It doesn't speed up there is only a Noise when you let off the throttle or put on the Throttle. mainly under gentle throttle you can hear it most

Cheers

I would guess it's the clicking front wheel problem, have you done a search on here for "clicking front wheel"? It's usually fairly easy to resolve the problem.

Single click or continuous clicking?

It's not the wheels by the description, he said it's a single noise on and off throttle, nothing like the continuous clicking from hell the front wheels make on turning.

I don't think it's one of the normal noises unfortunately GTRMikeyB, sounds like something has a bit of play in it.

Just thought, is it a single metallic 'DING' noise coming from nearer the rear end? If so it is normal, but completely random and of unknown cause.

hey guys,

It is like a single Click/Knock mainly when you let off and you can hear it most if its just gentle throttle.

It sounds like it is coming from the Front. I still have warranty with the Garage I bought it from so think I will just give it to them tell them what I can hear and see if they will fix it.

I also get like a Jingling noise sometimes which sounds like its coming from the wheels any ideas?

Cheers

Jingling noise is probably brake caliper pad pins rattling, have a look at the top pins on front calipers, the spring clip is not fitted from factory (lower pin will have the clip).

The single click could be the DING noise I described, there is no known explanation or cure for it.

Let us know what the garage says
