Retrimmed Steering Wheels - NOT straight

I've seen many GTR's with a re trimmed steering wheel but never usually straight.

Is it hard to get the steering wheel straight once been taken off?

I would have thought it's easy to get it straight. I actually hate alcantara steering wheels so haven't looked at any photo's, but seriously they are put back on pissed?

on my 33, I can't get my re-trimmed wheel straight. The splines on the donor wheel are "out" by 1 spline. I assume I'll need to get the steering geometry adjusted to compensate. Might be a similar thing?

Was chatting to litchfield about this and when they fitted, they tend to do it with alignment also to ensure it is straight. I assume get your own wheel trimmed and replaced and it might be OK. But they are normally exchanged for speed

~I have just fitted an all leather flat bottom steering wheel. When you do it there is a straight line marking on the wheel and the car base so you line the 2 up after. Mine seems ok.

Same here, I fitted a MINES wheel to mine and there is a spline that signals the 12 o clock position, went on fine and I didn't need an alignment.

I spoke to Litchfield and they do recommend an alignment with it which I can understand with some wheels but personally I had no issues whatsoever. I also spoke to Tin whilst I was at Litchfields and he said the same.

It is the factory parts issue, very normal, when you swap a different wheel from different car, even they both are OEM, they could still have very much big chance not to straight, just need to adjust it with tracking. Not a big deal.

Had the same problem when mine was fitted, wasn't good for my OCD! Had to get a full wheel alignment done again to straighten it out. Wish I had know before, would have obviously done it all at once.
