After trying both neither are anywhere near ideal but the 888 slightly had the edge, the trick is to not launch at too high a RPM/BOOST, I found that 2500 rpm in my map (but AC changed it to make boost in LC rather than just rev) gave a 1.8/9 60ft as opposed to slicks which was 1.4 and they could have handled more rpm/boost
