While you're waiting for your Disklock or Ghost system, just wrap your key in some tinfoil. This blocks the signal that these scumbag thieves are after. I know it's not the ideal solution but who cares if it does the trick!

My keys and car are separated by 4 floors (my parking spaces are in the undercroft and my apartment is on top floor) and 2 security doors -

Still glad I have Ghost fitted though and usually when car is parked up for an extended period I also fit a Disklock.

not quite, I've ordered one of these below *Fob Signal Blocker Faraday Bag* so I can put the family key's in it! Just an Extra layer of security with recent going on's, seem's like they are selling lots of them on ebay too!! (52 sold in 24 hours ) Word's spreading! .. cheap as chips too. pardon the yankee crisp pun*

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-...4AAOSwkjNZtlf4

I'll test and report back once it arrives, keys in the bag and see if I can unlock via touch entry/unlock.

I bought some of the bags from ebay a couple of weeks ago, cost was £2.79 incl. postage. I placed the GTR keys in the bag and 10cms away from the door the car wouldn't unlock, they definitely block the signal.

The problem is your replacing one layer of inconvenience with another. I think I'd rather not have keyless entry if it means wrapping my keys in tinfoil every night or putting them in a crisp packet, its much easier for me to use a blipper, I don't even have to think about it.

The tin foil works perfectly too folks. I've been wrapping my key in foil for weeks since finding out about the way they are stealing key-less entry cars.

Friends are using cleaned out baked bean tins to store their car keys at home as well!

It does help that my pride and joy is also in an alarmed garage with a nine stone German Shepherd on the prowl, but why take chances eh

Don't forget to always protect the key when out and about too as these low life's are also targeting car parks. Apparently they work in pairs and follow you with their scanning device whilst the other remains near to your car, basically a very similar way to how they attempt to steal the car at your home. Now obviously putting your key in a bake bean tin is not going to be very convenient and it probably won't fit nicely in your jeans pocket in this scenario but I'm sure you get my drift! Just be vigilant and careful.

Tins can be quite stylish if correctly matched and still keep your keys safe

That really is a 3rd world problem! Its inconvenient to put my keys in a bag! But I bet you lock away you're wifes diamond rings etc, my god how did we ever win 2 world wars or even drive a car that needed starting with a handle

Hi Guys,

Anyone interested in a deal on a Disklok?

I've contacted a few suppliers to see what can be sorted.

Provisional at present, but please indicate if you are interested,

choice of yellow or silver, with steering wheel cover and storage case.

SMALL size I think - need to double check this on the R34.

Can anyone confirm the steering wheel diameter of the 32, 33 & R35.

This is not a group buy - just a better price if the supplier was to receive several GTR orders.

Are they the Thatcham approved ones? Because if not I strongly recommend don't waste your time my friend they can be removed very quickly, waste of time and money. The Thatcham approved ones are much better designed and material and lock mechanism.

In response to the earlier bump & the post by JPS, the DiskLok is the Thatcham accredited steering wheel lock & you need the small size. Got one for both of my cars and they are an added visual deterrent at least ...

something like 79.99 or cheaper like the last buy they did would be ace, and as you said "choice of yellow or silver, with steering wheel cover and storage case.", R35 is small size disklok. thanks.

A simple old school cut of switch hidden somewhere mightn't be a bad idea, costs nothing and might slow them down a bit

See what magic you can do!
jps is already on it

So in theory you could have on your R35 -

1- tracker
2 - autowatch ghost
3- disklok
4 - 2nd self shutdown enabled tracker
5 - faraday bag for keys to stop possible keyfob code stealing
6 - CCTV as a deterrent, or to record as evidence attempts.
7 - Big dog!

so all in all, it's getting rather silly! lol Or is it just being sensible, to secure as BEST you can your pride and joy?
