Headlights

Hello all,
has anyone put LED bulbs in there GTR headlights main beam? My 2009 car has halogen H9 bulbs and they are yellow - and I live in a rural area so good lighting is a must.

I have put some quality LED bulbs in my wifes X5's main beam - the improvement is amazing.

The reason I ask is that is not just a ten minute swap with the GTR like it was with the X5

regards
Shaun

Headlights

Hi ya,
many thanks for the link

is there much space to get your hand in to change the main beam bulb? Do you know if there is space behind the main beam bulb fitting as the LED units have a bit of a chunky heat sink on the back?

sorry to ask many question.
cheers
Shaun

Arch liner off and then 5 mins, yes brighter and can see more on main beam, better in very dark roads where you really see the difference, whiter light as well.

OK fitted the 8000K bulbs and the beam does project further but the colour takes some getting used too, might try 6000k as well

I've just sent an enquiry to PIAA and got this response:

Thank you for your inquiry;

The R35 normally has HID Xeon lights fitted, this pretty much the best you can get, we could suggest our HID bulbs, however they are quite expensive and the improvement would not be that noticeable, this is due to the poor design of the lens reflector, so I am sorry we really do not have a solution.

If you want brighter, 4300 would be the brightest on HID, 6000k is white, but not bright as 4300k. 8000k onward would be more blue, 10000k will be very blue, we did fitted 12000k on some customers offer road cars, they are very nice purple but dark. Hope this help.

Sam
