Z-Tune restoration.

A very lucky owner is having his/her Z-Tune FULLY restored by the Omori Factory in Yokohama. I hope they film at least some of the work for all of us dreamers. Can’t believe it was modified in the first place

Inside out respray means a full strip down and rebuild along with the rebuild of the Z2 engine, wouldn't be surprised if it costs the same as the price for the original Z-tune conversion... they are practically building a brand new car.

I do love midnight purple but for a Z-Tune there’s only one colour that suits it.

Does anyone know if Nismo sold that carbon fibre battery cover ‘thing’ that bolts to the body of the car in the boot?

Can confirm the other MNP Z-Tune is build #10. This is build #15 and its getting a top to bottom restoration done. I know the owner personally and he already has a Nismo R35 and 400R in his collection.

He told me they will either have to remake or reuse parts for the motor rebuild as they have no Z2 spares available.

When it lands here in Melbourne ill make sure I take some pics for you guys!

Last I saw, a full restoration (based on the R34 Clubman) would require a "significant 6 figure investment" - I dread to think what it would cost on a Z-tune! A lot of the parts are going out of stock or simply aren't made any more, some are prohibitively expensive given the relatively low demand for a small production run.

Buy what you can, when you can, that's what I'm doing! Hopefully see some pics of this soon, always great to see restoration work.
