PGS sequential transmission

Hi all,

I'm in the market to buy a sequential transmission for my car, i came across PGS sequential gear kits, similar to what PPG does. The price they quoted me is very good compared to other sequentials. The only thing that is keeping me from buying one is the feedback. Obviously they are not famous like ppg,os,holinger or other brands, nor i know anyone who is using one. So im writing here maybe someone is using them or know someone who is. Its going to be used in 700-800 bhp steeet/ drag aplication. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This has been asked before a couple of years back. They are half the price of a PPG 6spd sequential. Pretty much faceless company from Finland with just a Facebook page as far as I can tell. Almost zero feeback on any forum that I can find. They seem to sell a lot of R154 kits but there is almost no mention of them on any english language supra forums.

Since were on the discussion of Sequential gearboxes.

Last year there was a discussion regarding the PPG on this Forum.

Many people offered to trial it on thier cars as PPG were vouching is the best thing out there... Yes it was over 12k iirc and tbh with you.. that's alot of money for a system that has YES been trialled in Australia but not here in UK.

I'm just curious to know whether someone in the UK is currently running the PPG gearbox??

And how good it is??

Regards

PPG has gone up in price, it's listed at $16k+ USD . Which in my opinion is a lot of money for a gear kit in a stock transmission housing. But at least there are a few gtrs running them, i've seen one on Facebook in Australia running mid 8s in the quarter with a ppg. Unlike pgs, i didn't even come up with one single gtr setup using them and that is putting me a little off. If PGS prooves that they hold the power, they are the best priced option to go sequential.

If like you say price of PPG has gone up then am I guessing others such as Holinger may have gone up too??
16k+ is steep

What's the current price of a PGS?
Is it a complete box?
Do they offer variant ratios?
And what input shaft is there offered?

I'm curious as my set up is completed soon and I too require a Sequential system.

Cheers

pgs quoted me 6900euros +tax which is high in finland 25% i think..
plus shipping.

that was in may this year and is an exchange they take your old 5speed casing and fit a six speed sequential, lots of different options on gears.

Main thing you should consider buying Seq-tranny is how is the support from manufaturer and how easy to get rebuild parts.
Seq-tranny will require maintaince due to its nature, especialy if you are not a proffesional driver, who used to drive dog box and seq-trannys. It is very easy to damage "dogs" inside. Rebuidlung seq-tranny is not that very expensive because every gear can be changed separatley, so if you got bo support and no parts avaliable for your tranny on the marked you will end up with pile of garbage you cant use becaus of a single gear have broken dog.
So it is much better to pay more for the box first but get the ability to rebuild it easy later.
