JDM Key programming
Hi all; I've been an un-subscribed observer (and searcher) of the forum on many topics. Now it's time I get involved as I really need some help.
I bought a very low mile, 2008/9 R35 just after Christmas 2018 - with just one key. 'No problem' I thought. I read up everywhere, bought the key blank (fob and blade), made sure it was the right frequency, all genuine etc. and felt I was well prepared to make that '2 keys'. What I overlooked - it's a JDM car. All the great advice seems not to apply on getting the main dealer to program a genuine blank. Both Nissan Bristol and Litchfield have been unable to program a key "because it's a Jap car". Nissan UK have stopped returning my calls. I've approached a few auto locksmiths that seem a little unsure of their own abilities and I thought I would see whether there was any wisdom, suggestions or contacts floating around on the forum! Short of getting a colleague out in Japan to beg a Nissan dealer out there to send me a key, I am stumped..

I think same rule applies to any import (not sure tho), what I have done with mine (R34) was I took to my local garage and they clone the original key to my new one I assume they should be able to do the same with R35 keys!there is a old thread for R34 keys mention a different place not locksmiths, I will try dig out that thread if nobody else remember the name

So far as cloning the key; as it’s a later, intelligent key with keyless entry etc I don’t know whether this is possible.
As for the BCM and immobiliser, I have no idea

I have a customer with us spec car which he thinks either bcm or ecu has shut the immobiliser down after a flat battery, I think he used a cobb to put it in valet made before battery went flat and now he’s stuck.
I have 2 fobs ecu and bcm from a uk car so wondered if it was interchangeable.

SOLVED - Nissan UK and the central team in Europe had a chat. Nissan Europe were able to give my local dealer (Wessex Cribbs) a new method to program the key with, and it worked. Presto - I now have a spare and a valeted car
