Somthing a bit different....

Hello all,

I am hopefully within the next two or three weeks going to purchase my first GTR and have my eyes already set on one.

I have viewed and seen paperwork ect and car looks in good condition for age and mileage. The car has had alot of work on and so I thought I would get some advise as to weather anyone knows the car or can give me any advise on buying one.

My thoughts are that if i buy a stock one I will end up spending £££££'s on upgrades so just thinking about buying one that has already had a decent amount of work done.

Please see ebay item number I am looking at 153471344233

The reg is J800HKS

Any advise welcomed.

Thanks

George

I don't know that car personally but I'm sure it's been for sale for ages and wasn't selling and then was advertised several times on ebay since last year around November December time

Appears to be a high spec car. If all the history matches up and it drives tight then maybe take it into a specialist for a second opinion/pre purchase inspection.

As Takamo says, this car was for sale back on eBay in October last year and has been advertised on/off since - though there was a period when it wasn't listed.

George,

This looks like a nice spec car.

It is not hugely modified from a point of view of premature wear.

As has been advised above, I would find out where the seller stays and get in touch with the nearest independent specialist.

If in doubt about who the independent specialist should be, post the general location of the car and the members will chime in.

It will not cost you much for a vehicle inspection and you will get a clear indication of who you should approach.

The seller is unlikely to have any concern with this approach.

Minor things that can cost a fair bit are brakes, bellhousing etc.

Bigger things are obviously engine and gearbox, but in general they are not troublesome if the car has been looked after.

Hello all,
Thank you for your help and suggestions.
I have actually been to see the car and been driven in it.
I have also looked over the service history and this has been built and serviced by Abby Motorsport - are they a well know and used specialists?

Upon speaking to Abby Motorsports they have said they are more than happy to do a full inspection with report for £120 which seems very reasonable.

The owner of the car has confirmed he i happy to take the vehicle there and get it done as long as we can agree a price before hand.

Thanks again everyone

George

Yes, some of the bits were wear and tear which is fair enough but other bits should have been mentioned.

Is it 779hp on stock internals or was the engine build missing from the advert detail?

If stock, that's pushing a bit is it not?

Find out who built and mapped it. Call them. Ask for details. Most tuners will help....
