possible future owner.........maybe too tall

hi guys (and gals) im really really considering a r35 gtr for my next car HOWEVER i am very tall and large built aswell so i have concerns about actually fitting in it.

im just over 6 foot 8 and around 28 stone............please tell me i will fit in it.

pretty please...........with sugar on top lol

are the seats height adjustable? i currently drive a hawkeye impreza sti and its very cramped in there and from previous experience i fit in 2 door cars better as the doors are longer. i had more room in an old 1997 calibra than in my impreza.

its the sloping roof line which concerns me.

budget will be around £35k - £40k

thanks in advance guys

Wouldn't it make sense to find the closest one for sale at the weekend and sit in it so you definitively know?

I'm a prospective owner too and will be doing that to check out the space in the back.

Definitely give it a try - you'll love the cars.

The seats are adjustable - electric fore/aft/lumbar/height etc but they are quite snug (I'm 5' 10" and about 13 stone). Headroom is good for me - I have about 4" above my head easy (with seat on lowest height).

Door access good, though I find its a bit of a drop to get in. Plenty of space though to get legs in etc.

Might be a snug fit for you, but give a try

Agreed to see one but I would suggest a Recaro Edition isnít going to be ideal. One in price range might be trickier to find as less Standard Editions around (MY10 maybe as 11 went mainly Recaro did they not?).

I am 6í2Ē and no issues even with a helmet on - couple of guys who are 6í5Ē and up seem to be fine also

Welcome to the community - if you get one you wonít regret it.

I think you're going to struggle. 6' 5" here and there's not a huge amount of headroom but it's still comfy.

If you're set on a Datsun, could maybe get a custom subframe made for the drivers seat to accommodate?

In all honesty you can only get a feel from the comments on here as you may have either longer legs or torso than someone of similar height.

Best advice has already been given. Go sit in one and take it for a drive.

Best of luck.

I just fit at 6'3" comfortably.
With a helmet on I have to lean the seat back to an unnatural driving position or have my helmet rubbing the roof.
It completely depends on your build/ratio of legs to torso.

As said, go and test one.

Iím with Richard, Iím 6í4 and driving is fine. Add a helmet and you struggle and have to alter the rake of the seat backwards

I'm 6'5 and just get by with a slightly awkward sitting position as I have a longer torso to leg ratio, I've been considering a race seat and custom seat frame for a while, I believe 50mm could easily be gained. My brother is a good bit taller than me and really struggles with the seating position.

This has been discussed on here before - I'm 6'6" (but slim!) and would say I just fit with the seat right back and angled back. I don't think I would be comfortable at all if I was two inches taller. Also, the standard Recaros are very narrow between the bolsters and many "larger" people find they stick into their backs/sides.

I see you have an Impreza now - I had a 'blobeye' STI for six years before the GTR and that had considerably more headroom and general space, plus it was a much comfier seating position. So, if you think the Impreza's cramped I'd say you're going to find the GTR extremely tight for space.

You can get a very low subframe from Alex wutzke and fit an aftermarket seat, they give loads more headroom

Please send video of you getting out of a smart car for entertainment value
