Optima yellow top

I've had an Optima yellow top on my GTR for the past 2 years, no problems as it's been on trickle charger.

It's been at Litchfield for the past couple of months having work done; I'm assuming it's run flat over the past few months and yesterday the car wouldn't start.

I've got it plugged in a new CTEK with AGM setting to recondition however I'm off to Scotland for a week with the car and don't fancy having issues in the Highlands. New battery time or will the Optima be back to rude health with a good charge?

You should be fine - the Yellow Top's tend to recover well, have them on my cars. Can take a while though (easily a 12 hour job).

I use a CTEK MX S5 and on AGM it really brings the batteries back to life (much, much better than a Halfords "pro" one that seemed to get bored and gave up charging back to full).

Can't speak for the yellow top but I now swear by the halfords HSB053 Silver 5 year guarantee batteries.

I often leave the car over the winter, battery fully drains and just jump start it and whereas previous batteries failed this one keeps going. I'm 3 years into it now.

It's £100 at halfords but they'll price match so you can get it for £51.99 if you show them this:
