r35 gtr purchase -help please

All,

I have seen a GTR 2015 plate with 42k miles. Price of it is quite cheap for what it is as it is listed as 47k .

it has litchfield 4.25 upgrade , carbon body, carbon spoiler , body kit etc .

what is suspecious to me is the price as it seems cheap then no history or service book. Guy says I can verify the service history with litchfield and kreamcar.

would you buy or walk away ?
Car pulls like tank, it had vibration when breaking so either pads, alloy or disc warped. then it had a sound which the guy mentioned is bell housing sound which is normal on gtr.

thoughts?

Can Nissan change the millage and ensure it has not been tampered with and do body inspection to let me know if it was damaged?

If a car is written off or about to be made cat c which is now known as cat d or n , then would the insurance do that regardless or can the guy take it away and fix it without letting insurance know?

walk away at 47k it is not really a cheap car....the problem you will have is on resale time...no one will touch it unless 5/6 k cheaper than similar cars and too be fair you will struggle to sell without any service history...good luck

well that is where I am at as I thought I can get litchfield to stamp the service book but still suspicious as to why the car has no history

upon doing HPI, I am definitely passing . See millage tampered with below.

How does VOSA record the millage? is on MOT test or transfer of the car? what is NMR.

Date recorded Recorded by Mileage reading Total
19/01/2016 Manufacturer 10252 10252
24/03/2016 BVRLA 12096 12096
04/10/2017 VOSA 4755 4755
30/04/2018 VOSA 25018 25018
08/12/2018 VOSA 17181 17181
14/05/2019 VOSA 38776 38776
19/06/2019 NMR 40300 40300
19/06/2019 VOSA 40673 40673

Prolly had the instrument binnacle replaced under warranty. No biggy.
Mine has no history either. Do it myself because nobody cares about my car like I do

My mileage on my old car got nuked by the MOT centre. Entered 20k less than the previous year. Next MOT entered the correct mileage I didnt know until renewing the insurance and they asked why i had done 28k miles the previous year.

I would still walk away though. There are loads of cars about.

Am I right in thinking you are questioning the mileage because the 08/12/2018 recording is less than the 30/04/2018, but then it goes back up at 14/05/2019 ?

If you make the assumption that 08/12/2018 should read 27181 instead of 17181 (i.e. someone entered a "1" instead of a "2") then the mileages recorded look fine, i.e. as time goes up the recorded mileage goes up.

Performance cars change hands more regularly then other cars. 3 owners on a 15 plate wouldn't put me off if it had been looked after properly and serviced on time.

If you need to post on here, then I think you know in your head the cars not correct.

It’s a buyers market and there’s genuine cars out there. Take your time or it will cost you money and heart ache in the long run.

If the service book is’nt there with a car then a detailed invoice for every service is sufficient imo.

Always trust that gut instinct. I did the same in a similar situation. My gut just said no.

Just buy mine (in For Sale section). One off colour, 53k miles but only done 9k on forged engine. 850bhp, owned for nearly 4 years, serviced every 6 months religiously, full MY17 OEM conversion, KW v.3 coilovers, loads more, literally never missed a beat, £48,900 but open to sensible offers...

FYI, last month I sold my 2014 with 27k miles on it, Stage 4.25, 2 previous owners, full Nissan service history, brand new MPS4s tyres all round, brand new pads all round and brand new discs all round for £46k.

It wasnít doing a dodgy sale. The GTR was MINT and I still keep in touch with the new owner. Only reason that it was so cheap was because I needed it to shift fast because I had put a deposit down on a 2017 GTR.

Keep waiting, the perfect one for you will come up.
