Some earlier cars suffered from failed backlighting on the main instrument panel (speedo etc) and Nissan at the time replaced the whole unit (not just the bulbs), so it might have had this issue early on which might explain things?? Paperwork/service history might show this.

From memory the clocks have a serial number on which should be in the service history booklet, there would be a recorded account of the clock exchange if done u dear warranty.

On hpi it drops 14k then another 15k a few year later!! And 7 owners, I’m staying clear, found a nice genuine 36k one with history and clear hpi,

Don’t read too much into valuations there never really accurate, I tracked them for a year with the black book to realise there not much use.

All said and done it sounds a wrong one from the kickoff. There’s plenty for sale so take your time and get the right car

That does’nt paint a great picture, best to forget it.

Make a list of your requirements and get it posted up here and let a few members do some home work for you.

Only compromise on your wish list if absolutely necessary, even go as far to view cars out of your price range, you never know there maybe a deal to be had.

If the cluster get's replaced by the dealer the current mileage is also set.
