Had to jump it a few times. No issues. I would think that issues are less common now there are no positive earth cars about. Just make sure you connect positive to positive and negative to negative....

Some of mine where done at service time but you pay 10x more. The few left came from the chandlers. Buy a bunch of fully threaded flanged bolts from your hardware store of choice screfix or ebay etc....
