Hi Peeps
As you know Rays Wheels manufacture and supply all of the OEM alloys for the R35 GTR. Nissan charge roughly £1000 per wheel if you needed to replace one due to track day damage. Putting cheap/nasty replacements on a super car is like rubbing crap on it and 20" track tires are not exactly cheap!

The standard wheels are
20x9.5 front 20x10.5 rear

These are the 18" rays wheels that fit without spacers

Te37
Front
18x9.5 +35 8.27kg (approx 2mm caliper clearance) any offset lower than this has good clearance
Rear
18x10.5 +22 8.95kg

Ce28
front
18x9.5 +34 7.6kg(approx 2mm caliper clearance) any offset lower than this has good clearance
rear
18x10.5 +12 8.6kg

Re30
Front
18x9.5 +35 8kg(approx 2mm caliper clearance) any offset lower than this has good clearance
rear
18x10.5 +25 8.8kg

Have a look at RAYS CO., LTD.

Any of you have any more 18" wheels that fit without spacers please add!!!

Useful info for track days perhaps.

Only downside is 18 inchers look ridiculously small on a GT-R!
Any 19" alternatives?

18" wheels look good!!!
here is an r35 gtr JGTC on the regulation 18" wheels:clap:

There are also some 19" work wheels that are meant to fit but i havent seen pics on a car yet!

Other 19" wheel options from RAYS include volk racing G2, G10 & progressiv Me.

At the moment most of the poeple that are using 18's have taken them from their old R33/ R34 and the tyre sizes are wrong. However the reduction in profile does give massive acceleration improvements beacuse of the overall reduction in gearing!!!

wheel sizes and tyre diameters that near match OE
20" wheels(standard)
255 40 20 = 712mm
285 35 20 = 707.5mm

19" wheels
255 45 19 = 712mm
285 40 19 = 710mm

18" wheels
255 50 18 = 712.2mm
285 45 18 = 713.7mm

With these sizes there is no issue with ground clearance or reduced top speed!

If you put 19s or 18s, due to the difference in the diameter, wouldn't it bother the ATESSA system? Some kind of a warranty issue?

I've been running 18" rotas for many track days, in fact i think they look pretty cool (pic below). And for those of you that think rotas suck, we've had them xrayed / tested. Not to mention bouncing off curbs at my local tracks for many track days, nil issues....

Should be fine ...

The wheel itself does not matter (as long as it fits over the brakes and allows for cooling, I would prefer 19" to allow for more clearance).

It is the overall package, wheel + tire that should keep the same size.
Not having the correct measurements will make your spedo not indicating the real speed (is smaller effective speed will be lower, if larger the spedo will not mark enough).

Hope this helps ...

I think the Cobb car sits on 18's and that doesn't look too bad. Having said that, they are wide and sitting under a wide body. Maybe the tyres are a deeper aspect and look like they fill the arch a bit more? Also, black tends to make things look smaller. That's why women wear black isn't it? :D
