is it just me or are the prices of the 32gtr on the way back up..?
i've been having a look around in the classified ads etc.. and most 32gtr's seem to start around £7000 or so and upwards
where as 12 months ago you could see plenty around £4995 mark
i 've just seen one advertised for £5000 with a blown engine ..!!

right i know some smart arse is going to post a link to one for £3500 ...:chuckle: but i'm talking in general
theres always the odd one desperate to sell at a low price
also before the offers come i don't want to buy one as i already have one
i am just intrested in the prices ..

Yea same here mate. Love the r32's too death.

Mine will never be sold. I like to think it will be a classic one day. What else made in 1989 comes anywhere close?

Don't forget there are a lot of dog rough cars out there hence the low prices(not in all cases). It is encouraging that the second hand Market is becoming more boyount. People buy these type of cars due to the low value and once they own them for a short while they can't afford to run/maintain them and they go back on the Market in a sad state.

the cars are getting broke up now though for spares at an alarming rate soon there won't be half as many left so prices can only go up

Consider the pug 209.

Once an expensive hot hatch
Which became very cheap. (lots of kids bought them)
Now getting expensive

I guess R32 GTRs will follow the same pattern, the question is have they finally hit the bottom of the inverse bell curve and starting to climb.

Other thing to consider is the huge drive for more efficient cars. That will slow any kind of price recovery. Also if they nail electric cars, that will also hurt. All of a sudden the R32 GTR will be in a museum before having a chance to be a classic.

To be honest I get so pee'd off to see some GTR's going for peanut prices, in a way that brings down the over all value and prestige of being a GTR owner. I'm glad they are on the way up, at least unlike some other same generation cars the GTR at least can perform in big numbers:chuckle: I went on ebay last night and spotted some GTRs, going for cheap but not many 32's only a couple.
I won't sell my 33 for less than £40K, oooh that makes it more expensive than the TopSecret Drag RII:chuckle:

looking nigel at the cars you have owned "wow"(maybe i will be so lucky someday) you seem qualified to comment on the gtr 's merits if you consider the gtr to be a good car it must be ...!!

As an E30 M3 owner, I've been interested to see how prices have gone up the last couple of years. Look at other comparable classics of the same era like Mercedes Benz 2.3/2.5-16, Cosworth Sierras, or even Lancia Delta Integrale Evo models. When you look at R32 GT-R's and realise they were built to conquer every production touring car out there, but tragically were so good they got banned through rule changes (It won every one of the touring car races in entered in Australia) very quickly. After all - what companies would sponsor a team that had no hope of winning...?

Then look at Hakosuka GT-R's (I mean genuine KPGC10's only, with the 2 litre twin cam 6 cylinder engine). See the racing heritage that car has... not nearly as much as the BNR32. Now look at prices for pukka ones... $60,000 - $120,000 USD in Japan!

Hands up those who don't think the BNR32 is destined to become a cult classic, then?

We reckon then R32GT-R is a classic in the making. It's just taking European collectors a little longer to realise the best car of it's era was only made for the Japanese domestic market.... But they're cottoning on.

Once all the crap out there fizzles out into the scrap heaps and the truly well looked after ones remain, you'll see prices go up. All of a sudden lots of people will be wanting to make their cars completely standard again (which has been happening in the E30 M3 world...)! :chuckle:

I've been thinking it my be a good idea to invest in 32's - with strong car covers and put them in a large barn as a pension. Unfortunately I don't have a barn, nor the space... but they'll probably appreciate quicker than most things in years to come..

Good thread miragev..i really hope r32 gtrs start to consistantly go up in price not just because i have one but because there a legendary car..first real gtr.Original Godzilla..i adore R32s..theres no other car like them. The higher the prices go the more they will be soath after.

Id have a good bnr32 anyday over a escossie(no comparison) which are making huge money. For any 32 owners out there that are selling..keep the prices up!!!

Long live Godzilla:smokin:
