ive just been looking at ring lap times saw some r35 laps at 7.24, 7.26 and 7.34.


but a nismo 2015 r35 has run 7.08 on Dunlop runflats :eek:
how much would come off that with some r888s ?

the title should be "nismo n attack package" cause the nismo itself didnt run the ring yet. nissan only bench raced it with its data collection.

as for 888s i dont think it will go faster. the 888s have not proven better laptimes, they appear to give it different driving properties. they certainly have there + and - tho.

now put some race tires on the gtr and you will see faster times, tire wear may be increased, and thermal temps of the gtr systems may go up.

some gtr ring lappers have tried 888s and we have not seen any customers with record times... tho they dont always run the same config as nissan due to the track not being closed and of course traffic.

mpss probably best bet for the wet.

arnt the dunlops faster than the bridgestones?
Steve is taking the p**s again ref the Bridgestone's. Nissan always use the Dunlop's when testing for official times at the Ring.

I only managed a 9.42 sec lap on MPSS in the very wet, and that was Bridge to Gantry. In the dry on a set of Toyo 888's it is a totally different story and in my opinion, the fastest and safest times for the real Nordschleife. The car has to be set up for these tyres and not just slapped on with standard or 'Track' Nissan settings.

The standard Nismo is not best suited to a good Ring time as the suspension is really stiff and great for a smooth circuit like the Nurburg GP one. The MY14 with the softer more compliant suspension may well be faster than the standard Nismo but no one has officially announced times.

To get a proper GT-R Nismo time you will need to go for the N Attack back A with the full aero and different Ohlin's suspension along with the other bits that it has. Then you might get close to a 7.08 sec lap if you were as good as Michael Krumm or Sebastian Buemi.

Yep and here we go again with that old debate about not only the car being set up correctly, but the weather conditions, the driver and what he / she had for breakfast, did he / she have a sh*t before the timed event etc.

Oh and of course a p*ss as liquid is heavy too !!!
