What are the standard gearbox and clutch upgrades recommended to safely handle this level?

For road, occasional launch and track use only, No drag-strips

I'd say a Sportsman clutch, upgraded baskets, circlips and maybe an upgraded first gear.
Sounds sensible.

Is that what you are running?

Edit I meant superstock. I've been running that clutch for almost a year at 880hp and no problems with it,. Me and JamieP both have had to upgrade the clutch baskets so it'll be best to upgrade them. My stock first has had a handful of launches and all is good so far.

So basically you have this clutch pack

Any other ancillary parts required for the clutch?

Yes that's the one. I'm pretty sure nothing else is needed for the clutch but just confirm it with Iain first. What turbos are you going for?

Not sure yet
The superstock kit is advised to 650ftlbs how much torque are u running?

Around 800ft/lbs or less usually, Iain said the superstock clutch is massively underrated and as of yet I've had no problems so they must be able to handle the power.

Forgive me, I meant super stock, nit super sport. Stock clutch holds 650 to 750 (not sure how long for) so super stock will have higher capacity than that. I would fit billet baskets and uprated Dodson first gear and shaft and be done with it.

Cheaper than the higher options and retains stock feel.

My clutch is a 14 plate OEM clutch, 1.6 steels, set up by SVM. It's been brilliant and was seriously cheap setup when compared to everything else I've seen, drives like stock.

I've got an Albins first gear kit and SVM clips.

I've just recently upgraded to welded, stock clutch baskets.

But if you are not drag racing I'd have thought you could get away with just doing the clutch?

many thanks.

Why did you go for the Albins first gear instead of the Dodson or PPG? Isn't the Dodson good and cheaper?

The new Dodson first gear kit wasn't out until recently. They showed the prototype at sema. It's chunkier than the other first gear kits out there.

Albins have major supply problems as they honour Motorsport contracts first. Great stuff but difficult to source.
