Needing some insight.

I have a set of 4 9" x 17" wheels (overall wheel width is 10", but bead to bead is 9".... so thats 9" yeah? )

Do you think yokohama 230/625/R17 A005's and 235/610/R17 Dunlops would fit ok?

I'm pretty sure the 235 Dunlops will be ok, but unsure on my 230 yoko's.

Done some searching on google and seen the 230's recomended up to 9". In german though.

230/625 R 17 278,00 1937 240 8,5 8,5" - 9,5"

BUT holding them up against the rims, shows the tyres to be not as wide as the wheels. Is this normal with tyres off rims?

The tyres will be pretty stretched on there to be honest. I know its an obvious thing to say but 9"=225mm so that says it all really. Most racing slicks offer very little give compared to a road tyre, so you can't (in my opinion) go for the stretched look preferred by some drifters. I have always used the optimum widths when using slicks, it's too important to compromise with tyres.
