Turbo sizes
Hi Keith,
Rod Bells name came up in a conversation I had today with Tim at SVS,I,m told he certainly knows his Skylines back to front & inside out,but I would like to disagree a wee bit on the HKS GT25/10`s.I reckon I got very close to 600BHP before I cracked the block because I got 517BHP at Tuning Japanese at 1.3bar then I got into the 11`s for the 1/4mile & 0-60MPH in 3.64seconds with the boost setting at 1.4bar & 1.65bar splash.I wish I could have run at Dyno Day 2 at 1.65bar because I feel the magic 600BHP may have been achieved, who knows? Can someone work out the mathematics?517bhp at 1.3.......??????at 1.65?
I guess that breaking the 600 barrier using 25/10`s is one of the reasons for sticking with them, then who knows what turbo/turbo`s I will go for?everything on the car is built for 800BHP and with the new all steel bottom end being built for 10,000RPM with a larger capacity I`m looking forward to next year already.
I think there is not alot to of difference between the two sizes,25/10`s boost up quicker but run out of puff at 7,000RPM & basically the 25/30`s take a little longer to spin up but pull hard to 8,000RPM and also cams play a BIG factor as well.
At
www.takakaira.com they have a power graph for the GT25 range which shows 572BHP/7400RPM for the 10`s,601.3BHP/7430RPM for the 30`s and 623.3BHP/7450RPM for the 40`s all using 272 cams.If I stick with the GT range I would go for the GT25/40R`s with 272inlet & 280exhaust cams which should produce a quick spin up and pull bloody hard to at least 9,000RPM.
As I`ve posted over the last few weeks I`m into Drag Racing for next year basically because I`ve lost a bit of interest in track days, there`s too many rules & regs.
I hope to see some of you guys up in Bonnie Scotland next year ,
Best wishes,
Henry.:smokin:
