Well, I thought I'd second this topic with a plug for Abbey Motorsport;)

As I live in London, I was looking for a garage that knew their Skylines; and was reasonably near. Well Tony, and more recently Mark, have really impressed me over the last 4 years or so over which time they've looked after my R32, R33 and R34:D

Unlike a lot of garages, they deal with literally hundreds of GT-Rs per year and this experience is hard to match, especially "down South"'.

I've just had my R34 "tweaked" by them and Mark 'gave up' his Saturday to ensure that the mods were behaving corectly when I went to the rolling road day.

Great service and experise; getting better by the year:) ... now what I wish is that they got together with Middlehust as official dealer in the South!!!! :D

I'll second that plug for Abbey

Tony at Abbey has never been anything other than helpful, and courteous.

On both occasions when I was having GTR trouble, a quick call to Tony had it sorted out, either with faxed ,exploded diagrams or just advice that was right on the button.

Can't praise them enough.

Edited due to lousy spelling, whilst under the affluence on incohol.

A job well done!

I bought my GTR 33 a month back and took here down to Abbey for a check over and a chat. I decided what i wanted doing and in she went one saturday, lending me a car to get back around the M25.

I returned this Saturday (one week later) and the car was sitting there clean as a whistle with all the new bits on and the old parts boxed and in the boot. They had even got the dent master in and sent away the bumper for a respray.

A great Job done so thanks to all those at Abbey and thanks to those who recommended them!

Dear All

Yeah well I think you guys know that I am an ABBEY fan and from what I hear from other owners who use them they ARE the best down South. Like Joss said they have spent many many years working on our cars and their knowledge of these cars is second to none. They do work on other makes of cars but restrict these to the ones that existing Skyline owners have. This shows to me a commitment to the Skylines we drive and is rewarding to feel that I AM being looked after by a specialist. Quite rare in this day and age.

As a footnote I once saw at Abbey 25 Skylines. GTS's, GTR's. 32's, 33's, 34's. Quite a sight. They probably had the largest gathering of Skylines before Gaydon that day :D .

Hi Guys,

I have to add a comment myself, the guys there have been great. A few weeks ago I had a service and both Mark and Tony were really helpful. Mark even offered to work on my car each time he comes to the Ring! How is that for service...

£10 M&S vouchers!!!! I'll have some of that! lol :D

Seriously, I can't praise Abbey enough, when my engine let go a while back, they picked it up and did the whole re-bore and re-build (with HKS forged pistons) in whatever time they could spend on it each day (fitting it in around all the other jobs they already had on the go), within 5 weeks. Top job!

And guess what, it's not a GTR!!!

Good old Boys at Abbey

Went down to Abbey With Jamie M to drop off his R33 Were it will avalible for viewing!

as we got there before the early bird :D

we did get a few minutes of Tony and Marks very valuable time :smokin:

I was very impressed with there set up and the high standared.
(it can be misleading if you are used to the B*****T of Main dealers vast Service shops)

You have to look at what and how things are being done not he shiney floor!

Abbey has one hell of a good set up, I for one would be happy to send my Love one there :)

The Knolage that Tony and Mark with the rest of the boys have is at the end of the day what you are getting for your Money.

What you have to keep at the back of your mind is that people treat there cars in all difrent ways and this does make a big difrence to how thing last and what goes wrong

I have always worked on my own cars my self and proberly never do a service on one day I am sort of always serving it keeping an eye on things and changing as and when! in this way nothing ever goes wrong because it is fixed.

I know not all of you can do this so you have to book your car in and hope that it does not do to much damage while you wait to get it sorted!

There is so many ways to tune a Engine and I bet the Boys have tryed most So they have a fair idear what will work and What mite not work, I think that a lot of people come with iders that have not been worked out and they have to work out what the customer realy wants (Not a Job I would like as I guess most don't Know) and just more HP is not much to go on!

Most people who are in the Tuning Busness are only there because they Love Cars and mostly one type of Car it a hard way to make a living!

Me thinks that the importers are very much incontrole of the prices of the parts and I did not see anything diffrents in Discounts of parts from the skyline importers to any Auto factor

so we should bere in mind that the importers are setting the price for parts not Abbey and the other tuning houses they just order them from who can get then there the fastest to the job so we can go to the dyno day/ track day ect

Keep up the good work boys! and I think you should have a Permiune rate phone number for people that just want your support and don't want to uses your services at least you would then get paid for your time!

and thanks for showing me around

Regards

The good Abbey guys.

I have to re-inforce everything that Bruce has said, so I second him!

When you become a customer of Abbey what you are really paying for is 10 plus years of GTR and other specialist car experience. NOT just bolt on bits. They genuiely care about their customers which is very rare these days.

They service other cars of friends of mine and do a great job. They are competant not just with GTR's but any car as they truly understand engine's and how they work.

It's a pleasure to business with them as they are "Nice" People.

Think yourselves lucky guys because in the days of my 32 if I needed work doing it was a massive trek to and from St.Helens followed by a Bill worthy of a Ferrari dealer! In fact I always used to feel confused as if I drove an Aston or something!

Abbey make owning a Skyline just that bit sweeter.

Keep up the great work guys

Jamie Martin.:) :) :) :)

You Guy’s,

Are soooooooo lucky that you have such expertise as Abbey on hand.

What a luxury to be able to take your Skyline for a service and get it back a sort time later knowing that it was in expert hands the whole time. :)

I’ve had my Skyline for over 3 years now and not been able to find anyone in mainland Europe that can handle anything more than an oil change. :( I’ve been forced to keep the tuning simple for the time being and done most myself.

For Abbey to be an agent for Skyline GTR’s surely they would first need to become official Nissan dealers.

If what I’ve found here in Germany, is anything to go by that’s not difficult.

If Nissan, are too sell the R35 GTR in left hand drive they have a long way to go with their dealer network in Europe.

Nissan Germany, denies that the Skyline even exists.

Someday I'll need to get my car to the UK for a service. :)

Regards Paul.

ABBEY

Just to quickly agree with what all the above & then some.......

I had my first ' run in' with Tony & Mark today. They were all very proffesional(especially with the tea!!).

They were kind enough to quickly fit my car in on relatively short notice, just to check it out before the track day.

Mark had a quick blast and a fiddle with her ( the car that is) and gave her a clean bill of health!

Thanks guys and I'll be seeing you soon, after I visit my bank manager!!!:)

If any one goes down there soon be careful of the bins there.
Apparently one of them went for Tony.....:D

Cheers Abbey

Paul..............
