Just had the car totally re-mapped by Abbey.

I was not looking for lots more power but more drivability in the area of torque. I also wanted the car to be slightly less laggy as I drive in London alot.

Headline results at 1.4 bar are:

Torque up from 352 FT pounds to 390 ft pounds

Power up from 462 bhp at hubs to 484.9 bhp at hubs.

These figures do not tell the story on how drivable and responsive the car is, I have driven many skylines and by comparison my mid range drivabilty is just fantastic. For example you can go through say a speed camera at 40 in 4th, floor the car and be changing into 5th at 110 seconds later and all this at 1 bar.

Needless to say I am very very happy with the work abbey have done to date and would urge all of you to get yourselves a mappable ecu and get the car set up by abbey as you won't be dissapointed.

I think the one chip suits all was a good back stop whilst we caught up with Japan but not anymore, Japan has arrived and its in Oxted, Surrey!!:)

Nice on Jamie. That is truly an amazing improvement! Almost 500bhp at the hubs from 2510s!:eek:

Amazing what a bit of fine tuning from experts can achieve:)

It is amazing what you can do with this new dyno, you can totally optimise the car.

Good Qestion Peter, Lower than before is the answer.

All these figures are at the hubs, so add about 60 to 70 HP for flywheel figures.

1 bar = 394.2 HP @7424 RPM

1.2 bar= 429.7 HP @ 7360 RPM

1.4 bar = 484.9 HP @ 7318 RPM

Max torque is about 5000 RPM across the range. 1 bar = 320 pounds, 1.2 bar = 342 pounds 1.4 = 392 pounds

Arn't the 2510's good for at least 2bar??? I thought all HKS turbo's could pull decent amounts of boost.

I realise that you may not have the fueling inplace right now but have you considered sorting that out then running at say 1.6-1.8bar?? I was under the impression that a pair of 2510's could hit nigh on 600hp on the right engine....

on my old car the 2510 could make 1.6 bar boost ok in the lower
rev range.
but at 7000 revs plus they could only hold onto about 1.3 bar boost.

What were you using to set the boost level and what type of actuator & wastegate were you using? You need to use the "Race" spec stuff don't you?

I realise its extra expense and 500hp is alot...but it seems ashame not to get the most out if it! :D

2510s

the 2510s were new with new hks actuators fitted.
all running on the apexi power fc, with boost kit and hand set.
even with the duty cycle turned up full they could not make 1.5 bar,boost above 7000 revs.

25/10`s

I agree with Keith as the best BHP I managed on 25/10`s was 553.5 at 1.3bar and the same at 1.5bar at TJ in January this year.
(flywheel BHP BTW)

It was the general opinion of the various tunners present that these turbo`s were maxed-out,so there was little doubt that we had reached the limit.

Great track and fast road turbo`s especially when used with step one cams,

Henry your car made that power on 2510s only because
your cylinder head is step 2 and your engine is a 2.8L.
It is well known that when a head is step 2 you dont need big boost
to make the power.
that is because the turbos dont need to try so hard to push the air into the engine.

Yes,I agree again with you Keith,I was just saying that the 25/10`s would be hard pushed to get the 600bhp figure quoted in the HKS catalogue.I must also say that you and Rod Bell had told me so.

My best dyno figure when my engine was 2.6litres was 517bhp at the flywheel at 1.3bar boost using 25/10`s.

So Jamie`s figures are excellent,so well done Abbey.

At what point in the rev range did you hit max boost?
How did the powerband differ when you ran on the 2.8L stroker kit with a stage 2 head??

Did you manage to get them to full boost earlier?

Hi Jamie, Sounds like the Dyno is the poodles noodles. I am booked in next week for a service and from your comments am fully anticipating the stage1 chip from a certain northern specialist will be replaced in the process. I am sure the results will be equally impressive but from a more modest base!
I will put a post up when the work is completed if anyone is interested.

SOMETHING DONT ADD UP?????

Right my car had 438 bhp at the wheels on 2530s running 1.5 bar boost.
the air fuel ratio was 12/1, the exhaust temp was 950 degrees.
at 8000 revs the injectors were flat out at 100%
so you could say that Rod found the max out of my car.
so why should jamies car make 484.9 bhp at the wheels at 1.4 bar on 2510s.
is there that much between dynos

come on all you tuners get your thinking heads on
something dont add up:rolleyes:

Does anyone have a map of the 25/10? Flow and spin speed etc?

Did you have an EGT gauge? did it show up any restriction in the HKS manifold?

Sorry to go back in time but I have never claimed to have step 2 cams,I don`t, I still use HKS 256IN & 264EX step 1 ,but my head work is to the absolute best specification I could get at the time.

Thats good to hear.

I was at Abbey when you rang up about picking the car up :D

My PFC map is zero'd at the moment while I run the car in, and I'm headed back to Abbey after 1000 miles for a ground up map. I'm hoping for similar (although obviously not similar BHP!) results :D

Jamies measurements were taken at the Hubs/Axles and not a RR.

And then theirs the mapping. I suppose everyone has their own way of doing it.
