Hi guys hope you all are well.

Been itching to get a gtr for years but never felt like the right time. Ended up getting a new f-type then a 700bhp e63. Both now gone so ready to take the plunge next few weeks and get a gtr.

My question being is there any aftermarket warranties you can buy for the cba gtr whether modified or not?

If so do these cover most items failing?

Half the reason I’ve left it till now till for getting a gtr is that I habit of breaking every car I have but finally calmed down with my driving since having 2 year old daughter behind me at most times.

Thanks for looking!

All non-manufacturer backed warranties are complete roll of the dices when it comes to claiming and even the big names (Warranty Direct) are cowboys. This guy posted on Pistonheads recently about his experience trying to claim for his BMW M5 seized engine:

https://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/f10-m5-discussion/602104-warranty-direct-claim-refused-m5-engine-seized.html
edit: found a copy on a web archive:
https://web.archive.org/web/20190410125825/https://warrantydirectclaimrejected.blogspot.com/

If i recall its taken 6 months, independent reports, escalation to Financial Ombudsman Service and they finally folded and offered him a payout + x if he signed an NDA (to save their reputation) and purged all the posts on the subject which is why its all disappeared now.

Just put the money you would have paid for a warranty into a rainy day fund and hope for the best.

Yeah I read all about the m5 guy with the seized engine, didn***8217;t realise they had finally payed out, good to hear. That***8217;s half the reason for this post tbh after reading that I***8217;m sceptical about all aftermarket warranty and no doubt will be buying non standard gtr so if anything was to fail no doubt warranty company would blame remap/injectors etc.

Litchfields do a very good comprehensive warranty, speak to them because there policy varies vehicle to vehicle depending on condition, mileage and mods
