First of all the best part of me aircon is removed thanks to pervious posts, but ive jus tone question... Where the air con pipes go into the bulkhead are there more bits inside that are now not needed like a small matrix rad? Or is that matrix heater a sealed unit and better left alone?

There IS a small rad (if you will), in a box behind the glovebox. You will need to remove said glovebox and then remove the large plastic box containing the matrix. The good news is that the pipework for the blower is modular and this large plastic box can easily be withdrawn once all the fastners are removed.

Glad to see I can be of use to someone :D
There are quite a few rubber grommets separating the engine bay from the cabin. I would suspect that one of these might be unseated. I noticed on mine that the main loom grommet (passengers side behind blower unit) had been knocked out and wasnt seated properly on the bulkhead where it should have been. Might be the same in your case.

Its really not hard to remove the blower either....just remember the wires!

Bringing up an old thread...

Have engine out for a rebuild/renewal and sprucing up.

Not putting AirCon back, so want to remove all unnecessary parts.
Obviously AC Rad, Pump etc are to be left out, but i want to remove the pipes through the bulkhead to behind the dash. I have the unit removed there, but what i want to know is, the reostat/resistor that is screwed to the heater box, is that needed there still, or ok to be left out if i still want the heater to work?
And do i just leave the heater box empty to use it as ducting?

Thanks in advance!
