Hi,

I bought my GTR My12 about 1 month ago. Impressed with the performance of the car. Only the exhaust sound is not that nice. Thinking of changing the exhaust now. Decided on either Akrapovic Evolution Line, full titanium with carbon tip or Kreissieg F1 Valvetronic stainless steel with titanium tip.

Any advice or comment on the sound volume and performance-wise?

Warmest regards.

With stock downpipes the akra system sounds very nice and is thankfully only acceptably louder. Thd titanium raises the frequency making the sound more interesting, especially on wot.

I have the akra system on my car with std d/p inplace, noise levels are still low enough for track, and on WOT sounds lovely. With d/p it'll be too loud for the track.
Performance wise, along with a stg4, I've managed to get 189.4mph (gps) in wales and speedo indicated 205mph (vmax event) on the airfield days.

Will probably get a vmax box and get some proper times at some point.

Thanks for sharing the experience. I think most likely will get the Akra Evolution Line and install the Cobb...

My car still stock.

I've had an Akro Evolution system on my car for nearly 3 years now.
I've never seen an exhaust system as well built and beautifully finished as an Akrapovic. The carbon tailpipes are just the perfect finishing touch.

I've had decatted Milltek downpipes since last year and love the resulting sound. It really opens up above 3,500rpm now with a distinctive titanium rasp.

I've still managed to get it around Bedford Autodrome which has one of the strictest drive-by noise limits in the UK, but that was a wet day and I backed off for all the mics. I expect it will be too noisy once I open it up.

However for tracks with just a static limit, it's fine at only 94dB.

This is an article I wrote when it was first added to my Stage 1 Cobb tuned car: Auto-Journals / Journals / Nissan / R35 / GT-R / Holy Akrapovic!

I've not seen a higher power increase measured for any other system, although I daresay the larger 102mm systems now being made should be doing something similar.
