as I'm having trouble tracking down this gear oil to see if it will cure my 3rd to 4th crunch (only at high RPM and never from 4th to 3rd), well, I'm looking at the stats of Redline shockproof and it says "film thickness like a 75W250 while having the low friction of a 75W90".
Would a 75W250 gear oil have the same crunch-solving properties, at the expense of well, slickness? I may look for such an oil in the absence of any Redline Shockproof, would that be a mistake?
