Done by a G plate Cossie

The only time I have had my ass spanked was by a G plate Sierra Sapphire Cossie with Carlos Fandango ridiculous wheels and the obligatory baseball capped Max Power driver. Don't know if he had NOS but be very wary of Cossies as you never know what they are packing under the bonnet even if they look like they were put together by Dr Frankenstein's blind half brother!:D

You should have 2 & 4 wheels then you have the best of both worlds.
Guy I was down the A3 @ Ockham last nite on 2 wheels so I,ll have to watch my rear view mirrors :D
M4 this afternoon on 4 wheels had some fun with a 600cc Kawasaki. Shame about the traffic though :D
I blame it on all these sunny days and warm evenings.
Best regards Alan :D

Integra R

I used to have an Integra R ... cracking little machine ... seems quick as hell as its so noisy and free revving and boy did it get some interest of the bikers when i first got it ( unfortunately from the boys in bloo too ... one even told me after being stopped after he Vascared me that he had driven one and knew what they could do ... was stopped umpteen times and gained a total of 14 points in it in 3 yrs .... so far ( touches wood ) never been stopped in my R33 ... could it be the subdued purple paintwork ?

I WANT THAT BIKE!!!

Alan,

Talkin' of bikes. Eventually once I've done the theory/practical and PASSED!! What type of bike do you recommend for me..Im only 5ft 1, (would like a 500cc) weigh about 7 1/2 stone. I understand I wont be able to touch the floor, but I don't want my feet dangling either from a great height ;) What are your's and Andrea's thoughts.

Fun 400's

ONe of the girls I used to work with got her first bigger bike around the same time I got mine. She was a bit taller prob 5'4''ish but ended up with a cbr400 which she liked a lot. non-faired CB-1 is prob a good shout.

Aprilia RS250 - got to play with one for a week or so and a great laugh round the lanes but not many smiles on the M-way.

Depends what you're going to use the bike for I guess - I used mine (Vfr800) for commuting into central london, something I did for 2 months on a RS125 - not recommended.

Cheers

My friends wife just got a CBR600.
It was a little bit to high for her, so she got a rear shock built for her that was 40mm shorter.
Now she loves the bike and can touch the floor with flat feet.
Get the bike you can always adjust it afterwards :D
It depends on what style of bike you like as to what to get, your choice of sports, tourers, trials, super motard etc etc
Good luck with the test :D
Best regards Alan

cossies and bikes !!

aaahhhhhh.....two of my favorite subjects..lol

Dan,

describe the cossie mate, I know most of the really quick ones in essex.....did it have 17" dymag touring five spokes in black??...if so its a bluesprint 540bhp with ahmed bayjoo electronics....previously owned by a bouncer/drug dealer...lol

Booty,

get yaself a baby blade hun !! cbr 400 gull arm.....or if you want more upright a bandit 400 import suits laydees perfecto

as for the topic of cars and bikes....yes the word is spreading.......strangly most bikers look upon scoobies as ripe fruit for the picking...but keep a healthy respect for the mitsi evo.....see, we do have sense !!...as for the skyline, i've mentioned to a couple of pals that i'm buying a modified r33 and they whisper things to each other and shake my hand!!! :D

I've got a feeling they may have raced one of the dragon motorsport cars that live round here and got big surprises ....in the dry !!

Keep on killing the overpriced luxo-cruisers tho!!...lol

Cossies are quick... :) know 2 that scare the spit out of me... one is a PROPPER beast... Escort, high 500's bhp and mid 3's to 60... only comes out of its heated garage a few times ayear... (his other toy is an Aston Martin Volante)
and the other cossie is mid 400's rear drive saphire...but a poorly machined HG means that it doest go anywhere now!

problem with cossies that they are all modded... and all quick, but the engines are usually so pushed that they are overly fragile

...cossies......

I spent 8 months and over £1k trying to find a decent cossie for under £10k about two years ago.........lol

Apart from the obvious re-shelled, written off re-registered, stolen-rec, and just generally poor examples my time and money turned up there was one which served a good lesson.......dont bother buying a cosworth anymore!! (i gave up after this one)

A small dealer in Scotland was selling a J-plate 4x4, magenta with 41k, fsh, two owners (who i think must have been batman and robin!). I arranged for the local RS dealer to check it out as im in Essex, and explained to the dealer that it was costing me £200 for the check and if he didnt think it was spot on to not waste my time/money.

He said it was ace, and he knew the car..so off it went to the ford people................................

Three tyres were showing uneven wear, the underside showed major impacts to the side and the rear, the transmission tunnel had a crease in it that was described as more of a fold, the geometry on the suspension was all wrong, it crabbed, it didnt run smoothly, it showed low compression on two pistons, the turbo was not spooling up properly, the co emissions were of the scale, the boot floor was damp, the interior showed major wear and tear, and they had a service record on their computer for 92k miles five months before.....it was now showing 41k miles !!

When asked if he'd driven it, the service manager (who owned a three door and a 4x4) said it had popped out of gear twice in the car park getting it into the workshops and after seeing underneath it he refused to drive it !!

When challenged the small dealer stuck to the line that it was mint and ford didnt know what they were sayin, but he did offer me £500 off the £9200 asking price!! Aparently the ford dealer informed trading standards and gave me £100 pounds back off the test :D

Thats why I think I'll give over £20k to a man i've never met, who is 10,000 miles away to buy a car i've never seen, at an auction i've never been to !! lolol Its gotta be a safer bet than buying a cosworth !!

cossies over 550bhp

I believe Paul Bailey had 680bhp out of his rs500 block in his x-pack wide arch escort rs2000 mk2 racer thing.......but i dont think he races it anymore.(probably went bang !! lol)

And dont forget that there are several rs200's with 700bhp+ and they're a similar engine with 1800cc.

sell the r1 mate......its just not a classic!! :D

Only joshin.......
