I have a SatNav Black Edition coming in late October, does anyone have any details on any pending upgrades for MY10? In particular increased functionality/connectivity with mobile 'phones, iPod connections, reversing camera etc....

In short are they going to fix the things current owners don't like or find mildly annoying?

You might want to take a look over here at this post featuring a few nice images on our German Forum regarding what a member seems to have learned regarding the actual navi installed on the GT-R [probably a Carwings HDD Navi type HS709D-A/HS709D-W].

Ich habe mich jetzt mal dank Google durch die japan. Seiten von Nissan durchgewühlt und herausgefunden (unter Vorbehalt) daß im GT-R ab '09 wohl ein Carwings HDD Navi mit der Typbezeichnung HS709D-A/HS709D-W verbaut ist. The SatNav looks pretty good and the iPod connectivity will be very welcome, hopefully they can complete the package with a reversing camera (just like on the Qashqai!).
